Is there any way other than surgery to loose the flabby skin?

I've had 3 really large babies and I am 4'11 and weigh 109. What kind of exercises can I do to shrink the skin? IS it even possible. I do not want to have a tummy tuck. I can acceopt if it is just this way but wonder if there are any exercises I can do.

Is there any way other than surgery to loose the flabby skin?
I have the same problem from losing weight. I started doing pilates and have really noticed a difference. Of course it's not perfect, but it is better!

Our past makes us who we are. We don't need surgery to hide it. Flaunt it! You probably look AMAZING!

We are our own worst critics.

Try pilates. 30 days to a new you. 20 mins a day. 4 times a week.

it won't make your skin tight and you won't see the changes overnight but it will definitely improve with time if you keep on it.

What is the best way to loose the extra skin after a baby on your tummy?

What is the best way to loose the extra skin after a baby on your tummy?
I have an 8 month old daughter and know how you feel. I worked at a plastic surgeons office for 3 years and can tell you that the skin WILL conract/shrink up SOME. It will not be like it was. A tummy tuck will probably be in your future. Sorry. I look forward to having a few more kids and scheduling my surgery.

Can a 16 yr old female loose 37-40 pounds without having loose hanging flabby skin if shes not obese?

how about 40-50 pounds

some people say yes and some know but if know then why do people loose that much and dont or some loose alot (like 115) and dont

Can a 16 yr old female loose 37-40 pounds without having loose hanging flabby skin if shes not obese?
It is indeed possible to lose (please note, that's how you spell the word, not "loose" - which means something not tight) that sort of weight. Diet and exercise, even mild to moderate exercise, can take that kind of weight off and help keep it off. Also, being young and losing this sort of weight through exercise will help your body to avoid the "flabby" skin or other signs of a dramatic weight loss.

I have one question for you, however: by your own admission, you're not obese; so why would you be looking to lose anywhere from 37 to 50 pounds of weight? Keep in mind that being *underweight* is every bit as unhealthy as being overweight, and as such you might want to consult with a doctor before attempting any such amount of weight loss.
Reply:Yep, as long as you loose it properly.

like if u do exercise n stuff, instead of starving ur self or liposuction
Reply:To start, please comfirm that your vocabulary is correctly pronounced(or typed) on here, it's NO, not Know.....

Yes, people can possibly lose 45-50 Pds. total of body weight, but it's very difficult to do so, most people(like me)lose the weight in about 1-2 Months of Daily Excersize and Training. Honey, if you're going to lose weight, you better have a plan for it, because it won't just come off like somekind of Houdini Trick.

Your last decision should be Liposuction or Starvation(in which I DO NOT reccommend)
Reply:Since you are still young, yes, your skins ability to strech and go back to normal is alot better then someone who is in their 30's and up. I just lost 85 lbs, Im 37, and Im having a hard time excepting that my skin is not what is used to be. Plus I think the longer you are overweight, the less likely it is to go back to normal. I also believe that some of it has to do with your DNA. I wouldnt worry if I were you, make sure to use a good moisturizer all over everyday as you are loosing weight, something with elastin, collagin, and pro-retnol. Get you some vitamins that are specifically for your skin, and drink lots of OJ. It has alot of antioxidants in it and it WONDERFUL for your skin. Also, drink lots and lots of water, it keeps you skin hydrated. You really need to take care of your skin starting now!!! Dont wait until you NEED to. I always had really nice skin when I was younger, and I never used moisturizer, my skin is not really that bad now, but I can see it changing, and man I sure wish I would have done a better job at it when I was younger!!!

Unless you are obese it would be extremely unhealthy and dangerous to lose that much weight.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TARGETED WEIGHT LOSS.

arm exercise will NOT make you lose arm fat.

leg exercise will NOT make you lose leg fat.

sit ups and crunches will NOT make you lose belly fat.

in your case, if you dont have excess fat, but you have loose skin from pregnancy, there is not much you can do. consider trying lots of stomach exercise to build muscle. it's empowering to know that you CAN shape your body if you want it badly enough.

if it's indeed fat you need to be rid of, diet combined with regular exercise is your only option.

Reply:And I'd like to be given millions of dollars.....get realistic. It took you at least nine months to gain the weight and a baby to stretch out your skin. It isn't going to go away in time less than the same nine months, and probably longer, because after you have a baby your metabolism changes and it isn't so easy to lose the extra weight. As for the stretched skin, it's likely with you from now on, skin that stretches that much in pregnancy doesn't often just bounce back. Surgery will help with the skin problem, a tummy tuck does wonders, but the weight loss is a gradual thing, just like the gain was.
Reply:As we age, we lose elasticity in our skin (collagen) there really isn't anything you can do about it without surgical intervention. You can lose all the weight you want but it ain't gonna' change a thing. Welcome to getting older.

How do I loose the extra skin after having a baby?
I want to open by saying if you have loose skin after a healthy weight loss; it means you have lost a lot of weight. Congratulations are definitely in order! So, what to do about the loose skin?

The first word of advice is, don't fret about it too much.

I might not look extremely attractive to you. However, you need to realize that the first thing people are going to notice about you and focus on is the weight you have lost.

http://weightloss-obesity.blogspot.com

They probably won't even notice any loose skin, and if they do they are most probably going to view it as a sign of victory.

Your skin is constantly renewing itself with old cells dying off and new ones replacing them.

Over a period of time your skin will naturally contract to snugly fit the new slim and trim you.

If loose skin after healthy weight loss is really a serious self-image problem to you, then you could speak with your physician about cosmetic surgery. Although, this is not an approach that I would recommend because of the risks of scars and infections that go with any type of surgery.

A far more sensible approach would be to be patient. Allow your skin some time to adapt to your new body size.

While you wait for your skin to catch up, ensure that you give it the proper skin care treatment.

This involves keeping it properly cleansed and moisturized. The healthier your skin, the quicker it will adapt itself after your weight loss

Loose powder sits on top of skin?

I don't use much make-up, just eyeliner and mascara for my eyes, then concealer. After I'm done with that, I use a little loose powder all over my face. But, it just seems to sit on top of my skin rather than blending; especially on my forehead and under my eyes (dark circles). Why is this? What can I do?

Loose powder sits on top of skin?
If it's really noticeable, you might have the wrong shade of powder. If it matches your skin really well, you won't really see it much even if it is sitting on top of your skin. Since it is powder, it usually doesn't actually blend into your skin like a liquid makeup can. Just use a light dusting of it to take the shine off your skin, and give your skin an even tone ~ but don't expect it to cover up blemishes or dark circles. I do like wearing powder without foundation because I think it looks a lot fresher and more natural than foundation plus powder. Hope this helped!
Reply:powder can be chalky it is meant to used ontop of foundation. also u put ur powder on first before you put on anything else, u might be using the wrong shade and not applying it right.
Reply:Do you use a brush or a puff? To me, brushes leave a more natural, less cakey finish then the puffs do. Have you tried a different brand of powder? Or try blotting the non-absorbent powder using another brush/tissue/sponge?

What's the maximum pounds can an average man gain then lose without having the skin look loose?

Will the skin ever get "un-stretch" again.

What's the maximum pounds can an average man gain then lose without having the skin look loose?
This depends upon the age of the man, the beginning weight etc. At as certain age, which varies from individual to individual, the skin no longer shrinks. Exercise help, no matter what the age.

Do a lot of chatting
Reply:when dropping weight the skin can lag behind for up to and around three weeks, so I wouldn't worry too much about your skin being loose (it will tighten), you can pinch-twist and lightly slap it to get it to rebound faster (pinch-twisting tightens, light slapping helps build breadth of fatty/muscle tissues under the skin to give it a nice youthful look)
Reply:if you have loose skin under your chin depite being thin, i dot think you can correct it any other way than surgery, you can simulate electric shaving like a man does and they suffer less because of the daily shave but it will only do so much

No, but you're metabolism may slow down and when you do eat again, you may gain weight back quickly.

16 year olds have very elastic skin and unless they happen to be morbidly obese, are very likely to not need reduction surgery to remove excess skin after significant weight loss.

Its very important for a 16 year old to get proper nutrition when engaging in a weight loss program. At 16, your body, organs and brian are still 'under construction' and any radical dieting could be very dangerous and even shave years off your life span if your not careful.

Its important to eat right, and get lots of excercise (intensive excercise being far, far more important than restricting your diet).
Reply:If one is 16, one should be able to lose any amount of weight without getting flabby skin. All one has to do is lose it naturally while eating properly and exercising.

You're young enough for your skin to bounce back fairly easily; 40 pounds isn't enough to ruin you, I wouldn't think.

Get lots of exercise, drink lots of water, eat plenty of fruit and veges, moisturise daily, and take vitamin E capsules to help it further.

Reply:At 16, she should be able to lose it slowly without having flabby skin. Exercise is important as part of a weight loss regimen for everybody, though.
Reply:You MUST exercise if you loose that much weight
Reply:If you loose the weight too fast, for example, more than 1 pound a week after loosing all of your "water weight" you will have some flab/excess skin. Loosing weight slower gives your skin time to adjust to the extra room. Strengthening/toning exercises will only get you so far as well. Your best bet, like I said before, is to take it slow.
Reply:Not at your age!. I lost lots more than that at the age of 32 and never had a problem. You should have plenty of elasticity in your skin. Also, a little exercise would definitely not hurt either. GOOD LUCK!

How much weight can a 16 yr old female lose without having loose flabby skin?
Your skin is still tight enough so that you will not be flabby.

I've seen people lose over 100 pound and not get flabby. The trick is to do it slowly (1-2 pounds per week is healthy for your heart and your skin and you are far more likely to keep it off). Your skin has time to contract. Flabby skin hapens when people lose weight too quickly, i.e., having a gastric bypass.
Reply:Since you're still a teenager..it most likely wont be flabby.

But..37-40 would be fine anyways I'd say.

Reply:If you lose the weight the right way, you should not get flabby skin. Just start exercising everyday and drink your weight divided by 2 in ounces of water. So if you weigh 180 pounds you need to drink 90 ounces of water a day. That will help with your skin's elasticity.

shouldnt be a problem, as long as it is done in a healthy way

With a simple plan like this it can work so here goes,

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.

Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

A 16-year-old's skin will have a lot of elasticity in it. If you're attempting to lose that much weight, you should incorporate some toning in with your cardio. The toning will tighten your skin as you're losing the fat.

You should try toning all areas of your body: All four limbs and your torso area. Look up some good toning/light weight lifting exercises on the Net. People can usually find things around the house you can use to tone. Like a large jar of mayo or pickles; you can use that as a weight, just don't drop it!

Reply:She shouldnt have the "flab" because she is supple enough, and her skin is soluable enough so that it will shrink into shape.

Young skin is pliable, and moist, and resilliant. Old skin tends to be dry and loses its flexibility with the moisture loss of age.

yes you most definetely can. I lost about 40 pounds at 20 and my skin has never looked or felt better. Make sure to do strength training mixed with cardio for your workout and take a multivitamin. At 16 you should never have a problem getting your skin back to normal :)

Reply:The key is to lose the weight slowly. Give your skin time to adjust to the weight loss. No more than a lb a week
Reply:first of all, how tall are you? 37lbs stretches a 5'0 person's skin alot more than someone who is 5'11. so with the same 37lbs, the taller you are, the less likely your skin will stay stretched out.

if she is 16 and not very fat(just chunky or chubby)???

If someone loses 37 to 40 pounds will there be loose flabby skin?
No, it should be fine. At that young of an age, your skin is still very elastic! It will shrink with you! If you were like 40, then there might be some loose skin, but you should be fine! I even know of over 40 year olds who lost over 50 lbs and didn't have excess skin. There is nothing to worry about as long as you lose it now, and not when you are much older! ~Good Luck~
Reply:Yes, there will be loose skin unless the person also exercised well while he/she was losing weight.
Reply:No not normally, exercise daily even if it is a few minutes a day.
Reply:depends on how fast the weight is lost and if the person is exercising
Reply:If you exercise it helps to be more toned but no its not very likly.
Reply:no shes pretty young so probably the skin will be fine i just recenly lost some weight and my skins not flabby their could be some stretch marks that appear more vivid because the skins elasticity was over stretched and now returning it back to how it should be often causes deepermore defined stretch marks but maybe not it depends on the person. it also depensd if shes chunky all over or just in one spot i.e if she has a huge belly and ur just trying to lose that it could be a lil loose but if the weights balanced all over the body then its better
Reply:no, especially if she exercises
Reply:Yeah, that is why it is good to exercise when dieting. I lost 52 lbs of baby fat after giving birth. It came of really quick. I exercised a lot. But, I still have some toning to do, still!
Reply:you meen you used to be fat and chunky hahahaha I love only weighing 120 and making fun of fat people
Reply:Most teens and children have very elastic skin, so if she loses it at a normal pace, then the skin should retract and not be flabby. It shouldn't look bad at all.
Reply:They will become their own batman cape.
Reply:i doubt it, but there may be stretchmarks.
Reply:No. There will be no loose flabby skin. Especially if she's 16. A good exercise regime will speed weight loss, tone muscle and increase metabolism. Think about it...a pound of fat burns 3 calories per day a pound of muscle burns 30!
Reply:i lost bout 50# around that age and I got flabby. a friend of mine lost alot and she didn't get flabby. the main difference was she excised a lot and i mainly dieted.
Reply:At an early age like this, you do have alot of elasticity in your skin. However a severe weight loss like that at ANY age will cause excess skin due to the fact that your body has made the changes to accommodate itself. Daily toning exercises will minimize the effects of the weight loss, but its best to accompany it with a healthy, "skin friendly" diet as well.
Reply:If she is chubby and she loses the weight the right way no it wont leave flabby skin. She must eat right to lose weight but also make sure she exercises, that way she is toning her skin.
Reply:yes, unless he or she exercises while loosing weight.why?
Reply:Nothing to do with age, it depends on the skin type, I know wome who have been huge during pregnancy in their late 30's , yet have no stretch marks or loose skin.

Also know young girls who have lost just 15kilos or been pregnant and have lots of loose skin and stretch marks

Hopefully your young and have enough collegen in ur skin for it to shrink back

The important thing is that u get fit and healthy, thats more important than what ur skin will be like

Reply:as much as you want. at your age your skin cells should "bounce back" so you wont get flabby.
Reply:it will probably be 5 to 15 pounds i guess

If someone loses 37 pounds at 16 will she have loose flabby skin?

if she is chubby but not greatlt obese/over weight

If someone loses 37 pounds at 16 will she have loose flabby skin?
At 16, your skin has a lot of resilience and therefore it will not look flabby on losing weight.
Reply:at 16 I wouldnt think so. She may want to work out some, just to make sure.
Reply:most likely..NO! it really depends on the ratio of how tall she is to how musch she weighs..check the BMI
Reply:no, as long as she does crunches to keep her tummy tight. and other exercises to keep the rest of her body tight.
Reply:No, as long as she workouts while she is losing weight.
Reply:Chances are no because age and amount of weight lose. Try exercises like yoga, or Pilate's. These workouts work on creating long lean muscles, not bulky ones. It also depends on how quickly she lose the weight. Talk to your doctor and ask that's why he's paid. In any case congrats on losing the weight to her.
Reply:It depends upon the elasticity of your skin. If your skin is thin or dry, it may be a good idea to condition it with a penetrating lotion, like cocoa butter, while the weight is being lost. Rapid weight loss is usually the cause of flabby skin. Gradual loss including aerobics will minimize the risk.

At 16 it's more fun and much easier to take up a sport. Swimming indoor all year, maybe two days a week at the local YMCA, for example, builds exceptionally beautiful, lean muscle tone. Bicycling is also helpful to a dieter trying to maintain a firm, toned body, but if you're into team sports, they're just as helpful if done regularly.
Reply:most likely you will not have loose skin ...given your age....although that is the only stat you gave us to go on. I still say hightly unlikely.

But healthy weight loss does not happen fast...so hopefully you are losing weight employing healthy eating and nutrition
Reply:For me, it’s a natural timing for her body to adapt physical changes. Skins elasticity can produce but cannot be reduced. In her age she still gets the advantage of increasing her height, in that way her skin will be fitted right with her height, it will never look saggy. If she’s not satisfied with that idea, buy a firming lotion (be consistent!) but if she’s physically active there’s no worry to carry because skin will be toned as she maintain her weight.

If i lose weight, wont i have lots or loose hanging skin? What can I do about that?

P.S. Im not taking pills or have surgery

If i lose weight, wont i have lots or loose hanging skin? What can I do about that?
Best way to avoid that is to exercise while you diet. Only other way is surgery, but if you exercise at least every other day, your skin will tighten as you lose weight.
Reply:If you go on a crash diet, yes, you will have lots of excess skin. If, however, you lose weight slowly and naturally, the problem will correct itself. With loose skin, if you choose to go on a quick weight loss diet, can only be taken off with surgery.
Reply:if you do it the wright way you wont have much saggy skin - losing 1-2lbs a week is considered healthy and fast enough to let your skin adapt.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.

eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)

5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day

8 glasses of water

have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy

have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle

cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training

dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.

ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
Reply:lose gradually, and exercise to train your body back into a toned state. I don't know how long you've been overweight, or how old you are, those are contributing factors...

Skin is resillient, and comes back, but like elastic, if you stretch it for too long, it will stay that way.

Good luck.
Reply:do exercise and make it fitness
Reply:drink plenty of water during the day and this helps the elasticity of your skin, but sometimes you can not control saggy skin without surgery depends on your current skin elasticity and how much weight lost. Good Luck!!!!
Reply:depends on how overweight you are and what your weight loss goals are...

If someone loses 37-40 pounds will there be loose flabby skin?

if the person is 16 not very fat/obese(just chunky/chubby) and exercises and the weight is NOT in one location such as thighs or stomache ???

If someone loses 37-40 pounds will there be loose flabby skin?
No there shouldn't be much loose or flabby skin if any with loosing 40 pound or less. :)
Reply:If that person is you and if you look ANYTHING like your avatar you'll need a lip tuck stat...
Reply:Most likely yes
Reply:Most of the time no. Just don't lose more than 3 lbs a week. Anything more is unhealthy, unless it is the first week you start in which you may lose 5-7, most of it being water weight.Good LucK!
Reply:yes. if your not willing to exercise. You don't have to do weight but go jogging or do a cardio just so so can stay toned up if not your going to get flabby.
Reply:It all depends on how fast you lose the weight, if it is lost in a slow pace your skin will be able to keep up and there will not be flabby skin.
Reply:There wont be as long as you're exercising preferably with weights.
Reply:honey no you are so young you skin still has so much elasticity to it you will be fine

be healthy and good luck
Reply:but 37-40 pounds is a lot!

I say yes. I lost about... 12kg and I do have at some places.. looser skin but not totally loose and flabby.

If you don't want that, lose weight slowly then your skin can adjust to it.
Reply:Like many of those who answered, there will definitely be noticeable extra skin if its lost too quickly (anyone remember Austin Powers 3?). Your skin is a living organ, and needs time to adjust to changes like that. However, that whole idea of losing 3lbs/week is the only healthy way is suspect. I was recording my weight daily at the request of my doctor, while not trying to lose any weight, eating normally. I found it to fluctuate anywhere from 1 to 6lbs PER DAY!! I had never known that I was changing so much so quickly. Of course, this is mostly water weight, food, but not fat. That dissolves much more slowly. So 3lbs/week loss probably refers only to fat loss. So just take it slowly, give your skin some time, and you'll be fine.

Even if you do have flabby skin, it's still better for your health than being overweight.

Lose that big butt, girl!!!

If someone loses 37-40 pounds will there be loose flabby skin?
if they are like 465436 pounds yeah
Reply:Of course so, what do you think?
Reply:depends on how quickly the weight was lost.
Reply:depends how fat they were and how old they were
Reply:yes
Reply:not if they exercise while using weight because a good exercise never hurt abybody
Reply:I lost more than that before and my skin was fine. I guess it depends on the person or how much you weighed in the first place.
Reply:Just depends on if the weight is lost quick and not able to be turned into muscle in that process then what will occur is flabby skin. But if there's an equal amount of weight loss + exercise then that skin will go away as you lose the weight. :-)
Reply:It depends on your age, how fat and the flexibility of the skin
Reply:Not necessarily. About 6 or 7 years ago I lost about 50 to 60 pounds and I didn't have loose, flabby skin. It hink it just depends on how heavy you are.
Reply:i think they will be but it all depends
Reply:That depends on how quickly they lose it. If they reduce at no more than one pound per week, the skin has a chance to re-absorb and firm up. When that weight was put on the skin expanded, literally growing larger to accommodate the greater volume of fat that had to be held in. It takes time for skin to grow and it takes time for it to resume its former size and density. So keep the weight loss slow (which means you have a much higher likelihood of keeping it off) and help out by doing few exercises while you are losing, just to keep muscle tone elevated.

Congratulations to 'someone' for thinking ahead, and doing this properly!

Does anyone know any at home remedies for tightening loose abdominal skin?

There is only one way-surgery. Loose skin cannot be tightened because it has lost its elastisity and that is why it is loose.

Does anyone know any at home remedies for tightening loose abdominal skin?
yah...it's called a tummy tuck.
Reply:i remember reading about some cream that you can put on that tightens the skin...it has short term effects but if you're interested, try going to a bodybuilding page like bodybuilding.com and checking it out or try to google it. it's used by a lot of bodybuilders. that's the only thing i can think of besides surgery.
Reply:No.. Once it's stretched out, it's like a rubber band that won't snap back.
Reply:Do lots Of Strethhing exersises ,Include twisting,Set ups ect.

The kind of exersize that you did in High school. watch your carbodriates.and Eat a balanced Diet
Reply:Give yourself 6 months to a year to let the skin shrink back as much as it can. If it's still loose after that, get a tummy tuck 'cause it won't get any tighter on its own.

Another option is to be at peace with yourself and your skin.

Lose the weight slowly and do some exercise - you shouldn't have loose skin
Reply:sweets if it is lip check but if u exercise ya skin is young it will be firm oky
Reply:Try to lose no more than 1-2 pounds per week, and do some exercise to tone up and you will look fab.
Reply:I'm 41, 5'6" and have already lost 30 lbs. I didn't have any loose or sagging skin. Good Luck.
Reply:Hi,

I don't think that's so much that you'd have an 'apron' when losing weight. I think with a good all around exercise would cause you to lose the weight and gain smooth skin and texture by eating healthy foods that include fruits and vegetables and high fiber.

Your exercise should include walking and other aerobic exercises to make use a as many of your muscles as you can. Walking is a very good exercise and you could do it every other day. On rainy days you can jump rope if you have a place the rope won't get hung up if it's out of the rain.

Diet that includes high fiber, vegetables and fruits

Exercise that includes aerobics/walking and muscle fitness/weight lifting.

Thanks and in a few months you'll be looking great I promise

Is it possible to lose 80 lbs without loose/saggy skin?

i am young and will excercise/drink alot of water

Is it possible to lose 80 lbs without loose/saggy skin?
try losing it slowly, and even after you lose it, it can take up to a year for skin to bounce back as much as it's going to.....I have seen people that have lost more than that, that really had their skin bounce back, so it may....especially since you're young....don't forget to keep moisturizing......
Reply:You know, it's really hard to say but if you keep up the hard work, it should work, but in the end, you'll probably need a skin reduction because it's been stretched from where 80 pounds of tissue was!
Reply:Moisturize the heck out of your entire body, vit E supposed to help with skin elasticity, but other wise use allot of lotion to help your skin to bounce back and masage the area's that look like they might get saggie.

Does a 16 yr old end up with loose extra skin from weightloss?

if she isnt fat just chunky and it is 37-41 pounds?

Does a 16 yr old end up with loose extra skin from weightloss?
No you shouldn't.

The people who end up with extra skin are usually very obese, like 100 + pounds over weight.

Even then if they are under 35 and non smokers there is a good chance the skin will snap back with in 1 year of the weight loss.
Reply:no, young skin is very elastic
Reply:we all have the loose extra skin...
Reply:I wouldn't think so, especially if you exercise. But I'm no doctor, that's just my opinion.
Reply:Yeah, you can get saggy skin if you lose a lot of weight very fast. It's worse when you're older though. It also depends on genetics - just like stretch marks. Some people do, some people don't.
Reply:well better some extra skin than the extra fat but you can or cant it depends on your body. but you can walk into a plastic surgeon and get that taken care of getting the fat removed is another long process of paperwork and counseling
Reply:Yes, not much but yes. True, young skin is very elastic but I lost around 50 pounds and have a little(I was 15 at the time). It's not bad and if you tone your body throught weight lifting and such you can minimize the loose skin almost entirely because it isn't just a devastating amount.
Reply:does not every body?
Reply:yes ur skin can get saggy if u don't exercise but usually youthful skin is very elastic and just molds back into shape
Reply:does a 16 yr old who loses 37 to 41 pounds get or have loose extra skin?

If someone loses 37 pounds will she have loose flabby skin? how about at 40 pounds?

It partly depends on your age. If you are younger, your skin will still remain the elasticity that will help reduce the flabbiness. If you are worried, get professional advice on an exercise regimen that will help tone you as you lose weight.

Again, if you are older, get professional advice on what will happen as you lose weight and how to deal with loose (flabby) skin.

If someone loses 37 pounds will she have loose flabby skin? how about at 40 pounds?
If you are over Thirty YES
Reply:Yes she will, but start by toning up your body, start with areobics,

had weights, exercises, or even get a trainer at the gym to let you know exactly what exercises to do and what equipment the use to start toning up your body, The results are the best !
Reply:i' don't know
Reply:talk to your family doctor and see what he/she says goodluck
Reply:if you are an adult yes you would
Reply:If you lose it fast you probably would. Much better to lose it slow, your body will adjust as you lose it. Also more apt to keep it off because you have developed better eating habits.

How much weight can someone lose without having loose haning skin or flabbiness if she is young?

and not extremely fat/obese just chubby/chunky

is 37-40 pounds possible? or even 45-50

(please no rude comments and no worries i will be healthy n all that)

thank you

How much weight can someone lose without having loose haning skin or flabbiness if she is young?
if you are below 20 years old you should be fine
Reply:Try some weight loss tips and diets on this site and it depends on how much work you put in to lose weight
Reply:I lost 75 pounds and don't have a hanging flap of skin. You just have to do it gradually, not suddenly. No crash fad diets or pills, or self-starvation. Just change over to healthy eating habits and regular exercise, and don't let the weight come off too fast.
Reply:i'd say so.. you usually only get flabby if you are obese
Reply:If you don't drop it -suddenly-, you won't have loose skin no matter how much weight you lose. You'd have to be incredibly morbidly obese for your skin to have stretched to the point where it remains flabby and loose after weight loss.
Reply:I think it has to do with genes, and how you workout. In my twenty's I lost 50 pounds and my skin did not sag after that. Now I"m 31 and lost 50 lbs. again from 3 children and my under arms are showing wear and tare. But I also didn't use any weights. But Women of color tend to have good skin!! So good luck (Use wieght training hey pilates is great, this is what I am doing now), we'll see if it works

How can a 16 yr old female prevent loose flabby skin when losing weight? can she if she is losing?

37 to 40 pounds? does it only happen when quite a bit is lost (alot more then what is mentioned in this question)?

How can a 16 yr old female prevent loose flabby skin when losing weight? can she if she is losing?
Loose flabby skin is caused by stretching the skin to the point where it looses its elasticity. In young girls it should not be a problem because they still have very healthy skin, however rapid unhealthy weight lose will not give the skin time to adjust to being smaller leaving it at risk for being loose, also dehydration saps the skin of elasticity. So if you loose the weight slowly, 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy amount, and stay hydrated you should be fine.
Reply:make sure u exercise, u have less chance of having flabby skin because of your age.
Reply:You are young enuff to automaticly loose the loose skin. Young skin is very elastic and can repair itself quicker.
Reply:Working out while losing the weight is the key to not having the lose skin problem. You have to tone as you lose. Good luck!! :)
Reply:Well, to lose weight: cardio is what u want. That means running, walking, biking, aerobics...but, if you plan on losing weight but want to look toned and fit then you need to incorporate weights. Doesn't mean big bar bells. What it means its do some lunges: these build muscles in your legs. For your arms: you can lift small 5lb weights, stomach: definately crunches and sit-ups. But most importantly: set small goals: you should plan on losing 1 lb a wk: this way you don't burn yourself out and your new work-out will turn into your new lifestyle and keep you fit!! good luck!

Can a 16 yr old female loose 37-40 pounds without having loose flabby skin if she is not obese/extremely fat?

how about 40-50 pounds?

Can a 16 yr old female loose 37-40 pounds without having loose flabby skin if she is not obese/extremely fat?
probably not on either account.
Reply:In order to keep from having flabby skin you will have to exercise while dieting.
Reply:If you lose the weight gradually you will give your skin a chance to contract and not be loose and flabby. It's when you lose your weight fast that causes you to have flab. The most I've lost at one time is 35 pounds and I wasn't flabby. Just take it slow and you should be fine. I'm flabby now because I had a baby. I need to lose 40-50 pounds now too. Good luck!
Reply:sounds to me like your a little young to go on that big of a diet, check with your doctor before losing more than 20 pounds.
Reply:Usually when you lose that much weight you do get flabby skin ... even if you are slightly overweight..

How to loose excess belly fat/excess skin after giving birth.?
You should try going to a yoga class for one hour each week. It won't take up much time and is very beneficial. As well as toning up the body it is also very relaxing. I can give you one of the exercises for your stomach ...

Stand with your knees bent a little with your hands on your knees. Pull your belly in as tight as you can and hold it for ten seconds. Remember to keep breathing though! After ten seconds, don't let go, but pull it in even tighter. Keep repeating this until you can't pull it in any more. I was advised by a yoga instructor that this is equivalent to doing 200 sit ups. Remembering to do that once a day should help you to soon tone up your belly.

Reply:try doing bicycle crunches and/or situps high reps every day... if you have any stretch marks around stomach area vitamin e oil is recommended......... of course it all takes time........so be patient
Reply:a'lot of sit ups and walking
Reply:Heya,

There are a number of things that you can do to both lose the belly fat and get rid of that excess skin.

The best however way is the natural way; through correct diet/nutrition and exercise.

You need to start on a healthy, nutritious diet plan and exercise regime, after a few only a few weeks you'll start to notice your belly fat toning up and the excess skin becoming tighter, so you can get into the clothes you want to wear again.

Alternately you can used 'skin tightening creams' (which may not work) or see your doctor and have surgical skin removal if it is extreme, however the best way is through slow natural means as mentioned above.

Action Steps:

1- Speak to a doctor/nutrition to identify a diet plan suited to your body.

2-Get down your local gym and speak to the trainers there and get them to put together a training routine for you with your goals as the focus (tell them what you want to get out of it). You should be doing a combination of cardiovascular exercise to burn the fat and light weights to tone up your muscles.

3- Stick to your diet plan and training routine and you'll start seeing results quickly.

4- Stay focused and keep your GOAL in sight - "to get back wearing all your favourite clothes again". This will keep you motived to stick to it :-)
Reply:The healthiest way to prevent a fat stomach is by ensuring that your weight is normal for your height. You can reduce belly fat by doing activities like walking swimming and rowing. Such activities help in supplying enough oxygen to the body to burn fat.More info at http://www.toloseweight.org/losestomachf...

Is there an exercise that I can perform to loose excess skin?

I run an average of 25 miles/wk; lift weights 4 times a week. 5'11'' 168lbs; 32 1/2 waist.

I just seems that I can't get rid of excess fat/skin/ whatever around my waist, not much, but enough to feel like I haven't worked hard enough and to preven me from taking my shirt off.

Is there an exercise that I can perform to loose excess skin?
I asked my doctor that last year, as I have excess stomach skin from having children even tho' I lost all my pregnancy weight. He told me that plastic surgery is the only option. He said *most* women have this after childbirth - some are lucky not to (especially if they're %26lt;20), but it will hit them later in life.

He also said people who've had dramatic weight loss cannot exercise the loose skin away. It's been stretched to the max - surgery is the only way.

I'm assuming from your avatar that you're a guy - so the pregnancy skin stretching is a non-issue for you, but I guess I'm saying if your skin's been stretched 'cuz of weight gain and now you've lost the weight, you're SOL. If that's not the reason, and you just don't have the washboard look, I guess keep workin' at it.
Reply:Do exercises that work your core abdominal muscles. As the muscle builds, it will help tighten and firm your belly skin. Otherwise, keep burning off excess fat, your skin will tighten with time. It just takes a while. Best of luck!
Reply:I am afraid that loose skin is loose skin and there is no way to exercise it away. Are you doing crunches for your obliques and abs? They will firm up the muscles under the skin.

How Can I loose post-baby tummy skin naturally?

I have lost all off my baby wieght and more (I had my daughter 4 months ago)....I was just wondering how to loose that little bit of extra skin over my lower stomach. It's not sagging just a little bit of a bump, but when I sit down it becomes a little roll....nasty! I know I have to have realistic expectations for my post-baby body but does anyone have any advice? My friend told me it took her skin a year to tighten up....is there any truth in that?

How Can I loose post-baby tummy skin naturally?
Its genetics. It takes time for your body to do all it can and will do. Just keep your skin healthy (lotion and clean) and it will pull into shape as time goes on.
Reply:It will take some time. Try sit-ups. You need to face the fact that you might NEVER be back to the way you were before...sorry.
Reply:sit ups -- sit up -- and more sit ups

you will end up doing these for the rest of your life

your body will never ever be the same again

If you have lap band surgery will you have a lot of extra skin when you loose weight?

I will be having the lab band surgery done in the next 2 months and I wanted to know if once you loose the weight will there be extra skin and if so will excercize help to tone it up?

If you have lap band surgery will you have a lot of extra skin when you loose weight?
there are a couple of things to consider....your age - the younger you are the more elasticity you have in your skin, next is how much you plan to lose....if you are having this surgery i assume you to be at least 100 lbs overweight (usually this is one of the criteria to qualify for the procedure) ...losing a lot of weight could cause excess skin, last it depends on how quickly you lose it....if you lose it too quick it could cause your skin to not shrink back down like it should....if this is a concern for you then proper excersise and toning is your key...good luck to you
Reply:if anyone loses a large amount of weight, they will have extra skin, because skin wont shrink back that much after being stratched out for so long
Reply:Depends on two things. Age. and how much weight comes off. If you are lets say 40 and you lose 200 pounds your skin doesn't strink back to normal like a 20 year old would. So if you are older then yes you most likely will have a lot of skin left over. But if you are younger you won't have a real problem. Good luck.
Reply:If you lose a lot of weight, your skin will be flabby, and it won't spring back unless you're young enough for your skin to do so. (At a certain age, it's just going to hang there.) I am pretty certain there's nothing you can do exercise-wise to comabt this; my personal trainer lost approximately 160 pounds through exercise and continues to exercise, but her skin hangs because of her age when she lost the weight.
Reply:There's a program on TV (cable) that is showing people that are having that surgery. Almost all of them need plastic surgery to remove excess skin after some time. However these people are losing 100-200-300-400-500 pounds.

Ask your doctor, he/she should know.

Has anyone who had gastric bypass have loose hanging skin?

i am 17 years old and 318lbs and i am wanting to do the surgery in may or june but my fear is that my skin will be so hangy that i will be miserable i jus was wondering how often that this occurs

Has anyone who had gastric bypass have loose hanging skin?
Your skin will be saggy. Insurance companies cover the cost of reconstructive surgery post gastric bypass (in most cases).

You have saggy skin b/c weight is lost too quickly.

Getting a gastric bypass means you are commiting to going to the gym daily post surgery and to eating healthy. If i were you , i would drop 40 pounds before surgery and see if it can be avoided.

This surgery simply forces you to change your eating and exercise patters, if you can walk still i really urge you to reconsidering.

I am not speaking from a skinny person perspective, i was fat, i lost 60 pounds, now i am pregnant, and did gain weight. I considered this surgery but i decided if i can walk, i can exercise and so there is no need for this surgery. Also you are young, at 17 you have energy. I would rather spend the money on a personal trainer and do more research and try to figure out what is wrong medically b4 commiting to this surgery. A lot of the side effects are not worth it to a young woman like yourself.
Reply:I have not had gastric bypass, but my mother did and I remember something about Carnie Wilson and that lead singer from Blues Traveler. They all had the "hangy" skin. If you lose weight slowly, your skin can adjust and kind of shrink with you. If you lose weight very quickly, like with the bypass, there is just no way it can keep up.

I would highly recommend trying some other measures first. Your stomach is going to be mutilated by the surgery and you will never digest food normally again. My mother can not eat anything sweet unless she stays near the bathroom. Also, they shrink your stomach to hold 1-4 oz of food. Imagine not being able to finish eating a small breast of chicken or drinking an entire diet soda. Your stomach will also stretch back out over time if you do not learn to control your eating.

If you overeat, you will throw up.

You are very young so unless it is absolutely medically necessary like life and death, I would try diet and exercise first.

Good luck.

My 13 year old son was 148 lbs and is now 140 but his skin on his arms, belly and around his core area and hips are baggy flabby skin was couple stretch marks, what can I do to fix this?

My 13 year old son was overweight, he is loosing weight but its loose flabby skin?
he will grow and soon fill out so dont worry, let nature do the work.....
Reply:Well, the good thing about this is that your son has his age on his side. He is only 13 and his body is still developing, so any loose skin will eventually be in proportion with his new adult body. In the mean time I would suggest regular exercise, lots of fruit and vegetables, and most importantly, lots and lots of water to flush out toxins.
Reply:There is nothing you can do about stretchmarks. How is he loosing his weight? If he wants to avoid having flabby skin by loosing weight, exercising is the best way of reducing this.
Reply:Your 13 year old son is growing right now, and probably shouldn't be trying to lose weight at all. This is a critical time for him, right at the beginning of puberty. It would be a lot healthier for him to eat a well balanced diet and to exercise, so that he grows into the weight he already has. It's quite normal for a child to pudge up just at the beginning. What you see as pudge is the building material his body will be using to turn your little boy into a young man. Ever seen a building site? Ever notice that building supplies are delivered way before they are needed? That's how the body works- supplies first, building later. As he grows and builds muscle mass, that loose skin will tighten up- his new male frame should fill it out nicely. As far as the stretch marks, those are scars, where connective tissue has torn. With time they will fade away to a faint silvery line. Unfortunately they are scars, though- and there simply isn't any magic formula that will erase them or make them go a way. Feed your son a sensible, well balanced diet and have him exercise. Don't aim for weight loss, aim for him to grow into the weight he has and build muscle. Muscle will weigh more than fat, by the way, so eventually he may gain more weight. As long as he is healthy and fit, that's just fine. But this is not the time for weight loss, not if you want him to have a healthy adulthood.
Reply:Have him eat healthy foods, keep exercising and slather loads of nivea toning lotion on him at night.
Reply:I think as your son is quite young his skin will tighten up again over time. he could try doing some toning exercises as this will improve circulation and muscle tone, which in turn will help his skin recover. Some moisturiser might help.
Reply:kill him and get a new son why did u make him so fat and ugly?
