The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/...

Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:

Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.ht...

Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/w...

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

Here are two articles on how to break through a weight loss plateau:

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier.

Reply:as long as u do lots of cardio ur skin will tighten while u loose weight
Reply:not when your young, but in later years, it loses it's elasticity
Reply:maybe
Reply:uh huh
Reply:You shouldn't since you are so young. You should just tone up that's all
Reply:At that age, your skin should tighten right back up.
Reply:it might be a little loose, but as young as 16, the skin is still very resilient, just be sure to use a good moisturizer, either a firming one or one with cocoa butter
Reply:You are lucky to have youth on your side. Your skin is young and still has a lot of elasticity. It should bounce back without a problem. If you were losing 100+ pounds it would be different, but 50 pounds or so won't be an issue. Good luck!
Reply:You must exercise a lot to avoid it and lose it slowly.
Reply:Lose the weight gradually and do things that tighten the skin....like crunches and ab work but i don't know exercise for other places...But if you gradually lose the weight you shouldn't have alot of flab hangin.
Reply:I didn't. When I was 15, I lost around 50 pounds and I didn't have loose skin.
Reply:money and a personal trainer
Reply:you are young enough that the collagen in your skin is still completely in tact, your skin should shrink down right with your body.
Reply:Maybe.
Reply:u have to work out and eat healthy
Reply:When I was 17 I lost 30 lbs. and you never knew I carried extra weight.

Also, in my late 20's I had put on some weight and my doctor warned that if I didn't lose it soon I would lose the benefit of my "forgiving" skin and that flabby skin was in the forecast if I waited too long.

Finally, please lose weight healthily, no more than 2 lbs a week on a healthy diet and exercise. If you have the money Weight Watchers is an excellent program with good support. If you can't do that there is a really good, free weight loss program on the Internet that is healthy, http://www.sparkpeople.com/

Good luck!

Reply:It depends on how you lose the weight, if you exercise, and heat smart, you won't have loose skin, but you'll still have stretchmarks. If you go for liposuction, or gastric bypass surgery, you will have loose skin, and will require additional procedures to get rid of the excess skin
Reply:it all depends on how long you have held that weight for. because you are so young there is a good chance that you still have alot of elasticity in your skin. meaning you wont have the excess skin you dread. you may have stretch marks though.

nicole richie lost alot of weight but she wasnt that bad you know! now she looks soooo sick.
Reply:that' a VERY good question I wondered about, If you lose the weight that fast I thinkyou end up with loose skin! If it's a lot of weight. i know we create new fat cells after 100 punds over weight I image that's the same bench mark for excess skin. Ifyou're just puddgy and lose weight you should notice excess skinthough it's probably part of your new weight, but not danglying off of you.
Reply:exercise, weight train while loosing
Reply:na it all depends on what kind of exercises he does and Nicole Richie most probably has a very expense personal trainer who helped her 2 loses weight
Reply:it can happen if she didn't stretch out her skin then it would fall right back in place.strength training it a great exercise for body contouring.
Reply:Depending on how fast you loose it and if you are an active 16 yr old you won't have loose skin.
