Yes, if you take the weight off slowly. Your work out is OK unless your a beginner. You may want to work up to that much. What ever you look like now you'll look about the same after a 40lb loss. Just smaller. You have left out resistance training , the only thing that truly changes your body. Cardio and resistance training go hand in hand. Good Luck!!!! and never give up!
Reply:Yes. You have to exercise to tighten up the skin and muscles. Crunches or sit ups will work on the tummy and using hand weights will help on the upper arms.
Reply:You're young, so you have better skin elasticity, so that will help you. Just make sure that you're staying active and toning as you lose weight and use a good daily body moisturizer to keep your skin supple---it'll keep your skin in good shape and less likely to be loose or flabby.

Reply:If it's a gradual steady and healthy reduction in weight, then you shouldnt have a problem with extra skin. If you do, it will firm in time. Most ppl say 2lbs a weeks is healthy, but you average person views that as too little.

Your workout seems great and rather intense. I hope its working for you
Reply:you are young, so your skin should shrink down with your weight. it looks like you are doing enough toning along with cardio, so you should be fine :)
Reply:Exercising tightens the muscles yes, and makes the skin appear less flabby. But in order to look like you never carried excess weight, you'd better hope that your skin contains a high amount of elastin. This allows the skin to stretch and shrink without having stretch marks. If you have stretch marks now, you will always have them. They don't go away. And your skin will always be somewhat loose once you lose the excess weight. Stretch marks are a sign of a low levels of elastin in the skin.
Reply:Yes they can. As long as they dont lose it to fast (like in 2 days) they should be fine. If they lose it gradually and safely (not by starvation or something) they can lose the weight without worry of loose skin. Plus 16 year old have very elastic skin, it should bounce back easily.
