he needs to grow into his skin!!!
Reply:he could just need to grow, or a stretched scruff, unless its an air pocket then theres something wrong, id say get to the vet anyway.
Reply:Puppies start out that way. All of them. Probably except chihuahuas. No worries. As he grows, his skin will be stretched and he'll look like every dog you see on the sidewalk.
Reply:your puppy is still a puppy!!! that means that your puppy needs 2 grow!!! that means that your puppy needs 2 grow into that skin and when it does........that loose skin will DISAPPEAR like magic one day u c it the next week ur like WOW THATS GONE...........KOOL!!!
Reply:My dog has the same thing. I noticed this yesterday. I think it is something like baby fat. I don't think it is anything to worry about. I have read that it is natural for dogs to have loose skin on his shoulder. I know that when they implant the chips, so if they run away they can be found, that is where the chips are placed.
Reply:Agreed with the previous answers:

Many pups just need to grow into their skin, though some breeds, like bassets, chows, or mastiffs will continue to have loose skin as per their breed type.

It's nothing to worry about, unless you can feel a lump or anything in the pocket, then it should be checked out by a vet
Reply:Most animals have loose skin around their neck/shoulder area. This allows a mother to pick up and carry her babies without hurting them. It also protects against bites and fighting, since the neck is where a predator grabs its prey, and where animals bite each other in a fight.
