the skin should shrink with your body.
the only time skin will just hang there is if you were sooo big the skin lost the elasticity.. or you lost a large amount of weight too fast.
If you are obesse and loose waight with exercises, Do you loose allyour loose skin?
no, you'll sag. SAGGGGERRRR!!!!
Reply:You lose credibility and job offers when you misspell obese, weight, and lose.
Reply:You would have to lose over 200 lbs. to experiance a real problem with this. I lost over 100 lbs. at one point and after a few moonths your skin adjusts. It helps to put on muscle in place of the fat to if you are really worried about it.
Reply:Depending on your determination which WILL lead you to success. if you exercise and eat Healthy and use cocoa butter lotion i have every confidence in you. But you need to increase your exercises slowly so that your body has enough time to get the stalastic (spell) back in your skin.
this is a time and effort situation good luck???
Reply:if you are OBESE and LOSE WEIGHT with exercise, the amount of loose skin you have will depend on a number of factors.
1.Your age: The younger you are, the more elastic your skin. The more elastic your skin, the more able it is to shrink with your new frame.
2.How long you've been the size you are. If you've been obese for 40 years vs. 2 years, it will be harder for your skin to shrink down.
3.How much you need to lose. Obese is a bit general of a term...it will be easier for your skin to shrink if you're 30 pounds overweight vs 200 pounds.
4.How quickly you lose it. If you lose the weight too quickly, your skin won't be able to keep up with your weight loss. It's best to shoot for losing 1-2 pounds a week, unless you're like 100 pounds overweight, then you can probably lose it faster.
5. Whether or not you're exercising. The more muscle you build, the less loose skin you'll have because your muscles will help to pull the skin in and hold onto it.
Reply:sometimes it will stay loose, but try to keep your skin moisturized and don't get discouraged. if it's really bad, expecially in the stomach area, surgeries are available:)

Is there anyway to tighten loose skin around the middle after major weight lose, with out surgery?
the only thing that can help is to wait over time, but that might not even help. I know my cousin lost 160lbs and had to have surgery to remove her excess skin (she was 24 years old so it wasnt even the age factor). the surgery is very painful and intense.
i also heard that drinking water can help.

You have to drink tons of water.
Reply:Body wraps help, but they get expensive and you have to do a lot of them to get the desired results
Reply:The only way is a tummy tuck. Check into it.
Reply:Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.ezunderstand.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

While you walk pull your stomach muscles in, I am almost back to what I was but dont expect miracles after the size of my child.

Why do I have extra loose skin on my penis even though I'm not circumsiced. I also have pink spots on my arm..
I think i got a deseas but am not sure. I thinki got it from a hooker that i slept with.
Why do I have extra loose skin on my penis even though I'm not circumsiced. I also have pink spots on my arm..
you should have loose skin if you are not circumcised.when you get circumcised the Dr. removes the loose skin around the head of the penis. the pink spots on your arm may just be psoriasis or a patch of dry itchy skin, wash it with soap and water ,dry it and put triple antibiotic ointment on it see if it will go away in a few days,if not go see your dr.
Reply:circumcision rids that extra loose skin, if you aren't circumcised you will have loose skin as it is perfectly normal and has nothing to do with having a disease
get your arm checked out, you didn't describe the situation clearly enough to be able to hamper a guess

skin has a fantastic ability to stretch, but not shrink. If you were once very heavy and have lost a lot of weight, you may end up with extra, lose skin. There are two things that you can do to tighten things up:
1%26gt; you can tighten things up by building muscle and "filling in" the area under the skin that is now "empty"
2%26gt; plastic surgery to remove the extra skin
It does not sound like it is applicable to your case, but if you are looking to (for example) lose fat on your belly by doing crunches or sit ups or..... You can not do this. Targeted weight loss does not happen. The body does not work like that. Your body will control where fat is lost first, you can not control it by exercising one particular area. It can also be unhealthy to train like that. You should train the entire body so you do not develop muscle imbalances which will inturn result in body misalignments resulting in yet more problems.

Wattles play a role in sexual display for roosters and also may play a role in determination of peck order in chicken flocks.

How can i lose the loose skin that hangs from my ribs and stomach?
You cannot get rid of loose skin. If it's only slightly bad you could try weightlifting so that you bulk up a bit and fill it out. Otherwise, it can be removed surgically. Typically that's what needs to be done when someone who was obese loses a lot of weight.
How can i lose the loose skin that hangs from my ribs and stomach?
The only effecting way to tighen is surgury especially if you had a weight loss. But sit ups, crunches or abs specific workouts can help tighten.
Reply:work out and the skin will tighten then if you continue it should eventually turn out how you want it
Reply:Light weight lifting %26amp; aerobics. Lifting will built up muscles %26amp; aerobics will help the loose skin to tighten.
Reply:Surgical IS the only way. Weightlifting will strengthen your muscles, that you will not be able to see because of the loose skin. Aerobics helps you loose fat, and if you've just lost a bunch of weight ,you know that your skin doesn't always respond. I looked around online at tummy tuck photos and they do marvelous work to repair that for about $5000. Alot of them finance too. Good luck :)

Whats the best way to avoid loose skin while loosing weight?
Don't loose weight too fast! Your skin has to be able to retract to fit your new form. If you loose a dramatic amount of weight and are left with saggy skin, then you may have to get surgery to get that excess skin removed.
Whats the best way to avoid loose skin while loosing weight?
Loose the weight slowly and exercise to help firm up the excess skin.
Reply:Do it slowly and make sure to keep your skin very healthy. keep it clean and moisturized....the older you are the less elasict your skin gets.
Reply:Sometimes if you have to lose a lot of weight like 100lbs then you cannot avoid excess skin. You should make sure you are lifting weights and eating high protein, high fiber diet. Good luck!
Reply:loose skin originates fr losing weight w/o any physical exercise.. so d combination of both will surely do wonders..

Any luck w/tightening loose skin under the chin?
This seems a really tough area to improve -
You even see many female celebrities in late 30's, 40's with a bit of this "turkey-neck" - anyone found anything that really works or at least works temporarily?
Is the only alternative to go under the knife?
Any luck w/tightening loose skin under the chin?
not sure but you sure do see it alot
Reply:Nope. Plastic surgery, that's it.
Reply:there are exercises you can do. Honestly though cardio is the best way and diet. I am 30 and begining to see the same. I be damned! I am working out a lot to keep my face slim. If you are a person not into exercise then I think the knife is the only way. Good Luck.
Reply:I thought that I was doing very well in this area until I lost a lot of weight; now I have a lot more skin than I need, and that is probably the one area I have a tough time hiding. The only solution I can think of other than surgery is to gain weight which, in my case at least, is not an option.
Reply:with out surgery idont think so maybe if you lost weight
or theres creams that are suppose to do something but i dont think they work

How can i tighten loose skin on my legs after weight loss?
Just excercise and fill that loose skin up with muscle. That's the best way. I don't think anything can tighten it, except surgery.
How can i tighten loose skin on my legs after weight loss?
by lifting light weights with your legs.
Reply:I used to have loose skin after I lost some weight but over time it went away. I didnt do anything I think my skin just adjusted.
Reply:you have to tone up that skin by excercising and maybe some very light weight training. i know people that were extremely big and lost a lot have to get it cut off
Reply:Get yourself a major face lift, but watch out for that new beard you mght get
Reply:depending on how loose your skin is, %26amp; how old you are you can have surgery, or you can excersice.
Reply:You can't. Leave it there and forget about it. It will pass soon. If not, get fat again.
Reply:Cosmetic surgery. I have that skin thing, too, after losing a couple of hundred pounds (total, after several diets). Skin doesn't spring back after having been stretched too much. Age is a factor in skin tone. You have loose skin only on your legs?? Not on your stomach and backs of your arms??? You can have it cut off, or you can learn to live with it. The latter is cheaper, and a greater challenge.

What to do about loose skin after dieting?
Exercise and a firming moisturizer should do the trick. The skin is loose because it was stretched by the extra weight and may take some time to readjust. Go to this link http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.ht... for lots of information. It may not be presented in the most sensitive format, but can help nonetheless.

before you go that far though decide if you'd rather forgo the risk of surgery and just hide the loose skin under well arranged clothes.
Reply:The only way to remove this excess skin is by surgical intervention. Find a reputable Plastic Surgeon in your area and you can probably have a "free" consult to see about procedures and cost for your case. Once the skin is stretched it looses it's elasticity. ALL the exercise in the world won't make it go away..You WILL tighten the muscles but you CAN'T tighten the skin sorry.....
Reply:depends on your age. to some extent you can bring back your shape, otherwise get cosmetic surgery or deal with it. Health is the reason you lost the weight so feel good about your accomplishment.
Reply:Exercise works but only a little. So if you lost a lot of weight and as a result have a lot of loose skin then you will have to get some type of surgery to get rid of all the skin.
Reply:Some of it shrinks over time. Some of it simply sags.
Grab a handful, smile and say, "See how well the diet worked?"

How do u lose loose skin?
We'll i had a baby 3 yrs ago and i was very skinny, and now i just look like i'm like five months pregnant. what should i do i feel like try relacore but i'm not sure it works. or maybe sit ups
HELP
How do u lose loose skin?
Sit ups and running i would guess.
Theres also surgery if exersize dosnt work.
Reply:Try cardio exercise and ab exercises. The loose skin will tighten over time, to a certain extent. But the best thing for a belly bulge is ab exercises. By strengthening and tightening/toning your ab muscles your posture will improve, thus minimizing the belly bulge. Stay away from the medications, creams and pills!
I lost over 100 pounds 11 years ago. I still have a small flap of skin that covers my lower abs. I have a six pack except for the extra skin. I still do cardio 5 times per week, abs at least twice per week and weight training 2-3 times per week.

Surgery to remove excess "loose" skin from when I was about 90 pounds over weight. Is it safe? How mch $ it?
Risks
The risks of a given procedure are best discussed with the surgeon. In general, more extensive operations have higher complication rates. The usual risks such as possible blood loss, hematoma (mass caused by accumulation of blood) or seroma formation, and infection vary depending on the procedure, site of surgery, and facility.
Costs
You need to go in for a consultation to get the exact cost, each person is different.
However, from what I have found it can cost around $25,000 although a lot can be covered by insurance and most places provide financing.

Check with your doctor and see that the excess skin is donated to the Cancer Research Center.
Reply:I don't know about it being really safe, but I think it's definitely worth it. It probably ranges from 2.5-5k
Reply:Congrats on the weight loss.
Call a plastic surgeon and ask your questions. We are not doctor here.
Good luck.
Reply:Every time you go into some kind of surgery it's never save.. there are always risks..the cost I'm sure it depends on the doctors( due research) and how much skin they are going to take off..

Does pitbulls have loose skin under their chins that may sag a little just wondering not for shure?
It is true that your dog may not be pure bred because of the saggy skin. However it is NOT true that if it weighs over 60 pounds it is not a pure bred. I have been around pits my whole life, and have lots of breeding friends. I am also a judge in ABDA Comformation Shows. We see a lot of 65, 70 lb APBT's.

How to lose loose skin from pregnancy?
i had baby boy 5 weeks ago i was 120 went to 180, i am currently 145 eating healthy and doc cleared me for exersizing. everything is back to nice and normal, except that uterous pouch, what do i do to slim this down?? i know time will help, but what else.?
How to lose loose skin from pregnancy?
sometimes it's genetic and you can't help it.
I haven't lost mine yet and my baby will be 6 in July. My sister who just had a baby almost 3 weeks ago, her tummy is almost flat now and she had a C-section. She didn't get any stretchmarks either, but I did. she gained 35-40 pounds, I gained only 6pounds. I think it depends on your genetics.
I am gonna save up some money and get mine surgically removed
Reply:Girdle. one of those expensive ones and exercise. also ask someone at the gym (ballys)
Reply:I had a baby in July, I weighed 220 before delivry, and currently weigh 180. I walk on the treadmill 60 minutes a day, 3 miles.
That helps lose the fat, about the skin, try firming lotions, I have had good results with that. But you have to use the lotiont EVERYDAY a few times a day. But it's worth it! Good luck.
Reply:unfortunately it can just be fixed through a tummy tuck surgery!:S
Reply:breastfeeding helps reduce the size of your uterus. so that's where you should start. other than that, stay away from lots of the bad sugars and carbs. get a lot of fiber in your diet. eat pleanty of fruits and vegetables, eggs, nuts (walnuts or pumpkin seeds are the only ones with good fats...omega 3 fat), fish, plain non-fat yogurt, and beans. this stuff is good for loosing weight and staying healthy. also, try doing sit-ups, crunches, and taking a quick 10 minute walk. if it's too cold outside then you can just walk around the house. stay busy and don't sit in front of the tv too much, cuz that will just undo whatever you do to lose weight. also, some women are never able to lose the belly bulge. if you look at women the next time you're shopping, most women with kids have that bulge from their pants line down (the "pooch"). but if you keep working at it i'm sure you'll do ok and lose it. good luck!

Why do people loose skin from there feet?
The same reason they lose skin anywhere else -- dead skin cells flake off. It might be more noticeable in feet, because they are often in socks or shoes, and there's not always much of a place for that dead skin to slough off to.
Why do people loose skin from there feet?
i think its because they dont dry they feet good after a bath or shower cause my feet do that
Reply:Maybe because of what "I Love M%26amp;M" said. Also possibly because of lack of oxygen, you know, old skin dies off.
Reply:A long time when they were making humans, they didn't think of putting shoes on them, so they made their feet so they would replace the skin on the bottoms as it wore off. If they walked on rocks and stuff they formed callouses on the bottoms. The callouses acted like armor and was very tough. Then as people got smarter, someone decided to make shoes. now we don't need callouses and the skin doesn't wear off, so it getsdead and falls off.
Reply:I agree with I Love M%26amp;M and Nine Inch Nails. Moisture because they are not well dried and lack or ventilation because they are locked inside socks and shoes.
Dry them well after you shower; use talcum powder; and try to be bare footed or wear flip flops or sandals as much as possible (at home or on weekends).

Lost35lbs. am62yrs, why loose skin?
As you age your skin becomes less elastic, so weight loss will result in loose skin.

read your question.
Reply:you are older and it takes a lot longer for the skin to firm up to the body again
Reply:What exactly IS your question?

Reply:If you dont exercise your body wont firm up . And age is a factor. The older we get the more elasticity we lose so skin doesnt bouce back as well as it use to.

Product recommendation for loose skin/cellulite and stretch marks?
I am a teenager and I have some stretch marks (probably due to growing) and cellulite-looking "stuff" on my thighs. What should I do about it? What product would you reccommend that wouldn't be too expensive and I could get it at most stores? And of course, is it effective?
Product recommendation for loose skin/cellulite and stretch marks?
if you can, go to a bio shop, organic shop or whatever the name is where you live. By some essence of grapefruit and essence of basilicum. You also need a base; a scent free massage oil or a scent free body moisturizer.
A spoon full base with two drops of each and apply on the full upper leg. Works better than all the creams I have tried. And if you can make it fresh every time you use it, the better! So don't empty the essence in the base all at once. success
Reply:They make coco Butter for stretch marks- this can be found at any drug store. It works miracles.
Reply:nivea good-bye cellulite. get it at wal mart or something

I am 16 and have loose skin from loosing over 70 pounds. When will it go away and how can I help it along?
Did you lost the weight quickly? I hate to tell you this but chances are you'll have to have surgery to remove the excess skin. I am very proud of you for achieving this tremendous weight loss. Just talk with your family and see a doctor about removing the extra skin. Best of luck to you.
I am 16 and have loose skin from loosing over 70 pounds. When will it go away and how can I help it along?
Thanks for asking this question. I am keeping an eye on the answers. I have always been told to drink plenty of liquids, eat healthy, exercise, get enough sleep and to slowly loose the weight so that the skin has a chance to shrink back in place.
Reply:loose skin will never go away on its own. if its just skin, and no fat, you will need to have surgical removal of the skin, if there is fat, and you loose it, it should shrink as you loose weight
Reply:Start exercising - even if it's just going for a brisk 1/2 hour walk every day. Your body is young enough and if you exercise you should lose a lot of that excess skin.
Reply:If it is truely just loose skin and you have tried excercise, only plastic surgery can get rid of it. Because of your young age, if there is still fat under the skin, your skin may still get firm again by diet and exercise. If you feel that it isn't working, get a consultation by a board certified plastic surgeon.
Reply:excercise, wight lifting...anthing to tighten muscle..whatever is left hanging..is just skin and will most likely not go back. the skin naturally has elasticity, but once stretched to its max is sometimes not able to go back. there are doctors who can help you though.
good job losing weight...im still bustin my butt..
Reply:You are so young! You will get your body toned back in no time. Just do exercise. Don't get discouraged. Only if you are over 40 or around there, it will be hard to get rid of the loose skin.

I have loose skin in my stomach from having a baby. Is there anything I can do to make it go away?
You can tighten the muscles underneath all you want, but that skin isn't going to go away. You need a tummy tuck - a procedure that removes the excess skin, to permanently remove it. But wait until you're completely done having kids.
I have loose skin in my stomach from having a baby. Is there anything I can do to make it go away?
get a tummy tuck
Reply:Find something heavy to pick up and HOLD for a minute. Like a couple of pails of water. This will tighten up your stomach.
Reply:tummy tuck - that is the only solution that works - don't buy gel and creams - none work - I have bought them all
Reply:Get pregnant again.
Reply:exercise, like crunchs or something
Reply:After awhile it will shrink. Probably not like it was but as long as you keep your weight down it will be close.
Reply:cocoa butter
Reply:Do a lot of abdominal excercises. If the skin isn't elastic anymore, you may want to consider surgery (tummy tuck) to remove the excess skin.
Reply:I have heard on plastic surgery shows on TV that once your skin stretches and you have stretch marks theres really nothing you can do about it....

What causes loose skin to form around a women's vagina?
Age--having babies--weight loss or gain--I think many factors might contribute to that.
What causes loose skin to form around a women's vagina?
child birth or loss of wieght

Does loose skin go away if you're young?? (under 20)?
say you were overweight for 10 years and u lose 50 lbs in 4 months, does it go away with time??
Does loose skin go away if you're young?? (under 20)?
probably not
Reply:People say the skin has ability to go back the younger you are ,obviously as we get older we lose the stretchiness also it helps if you loose weight slower(3 LBS a week) (after loosing the first larger loss) then may be a little loose skin if someone has been overweight for a while
as i have had 4 kids, i notice a differance but that's because i have carried babies weighing 9LB +and am 40
Reply:idk thiz meanz i dont know k so............................thank 4 the pointz!!!!!!

Reply:You lose that weight fast! Congrats! If your under 20 you may be okay. I would just use some cocoa butter or some skin tightening cream. They sell it at all drugstores, look in the lotion section. I mean its not going to happen overnight but if you keep putting that stuff it could make a difference.
Reply:No you have to start exercising to firm up the loose skin.
Reply:Sure it does. Without the bulk which it has to support behind it it must disappointingly shrink. Exercise can convince it futher. Lotions and creams threaten its existence. Ice cold water on it morning and night frightens it away. It all takes a while. Don't look at it and curse yourself it ain't going away. You'll provoke it to hang around.

Is loose skin a sign of weight loss?
Loose skin can be a sign of weight loss, but it also occurs when you lose muscle tone. If you have worked out or been involved in a regular athletic program and them stop it you can lose muscle tone.
Is loose skin a sign of weight loss?
its there for weight gain.
Reply:when an overweight person looses weight the skin sometimes becomes lose or saggy this is due o the fact it has lost it's elasticity.
Reply:it might be, but sometimes, i might we work of gravity where when you get old, skin start to sag even more. You might have the same amount of fats, but just sagging together with the skin

You can do things to firm up your skin but if it's really just skin, it's hard to get rid of. Keep exercising and use a firming lotion (pref. one with copper) on your skin to tone it up.
Reply:it probably will, but there is no way to really know. just wait and see
Reply:i was under 20 and had loose skin so i gusse not
Reply:No. Rapid weight loss or major weight loss (without exercise) causes fat beneath the cutaneous layer of the skin to dissipate, but the "stretching" that occurred to accomodate that fat causes the sagging, excess skin. Unfortunately, it will need to be removed via many surgical and cosmetic surgical procedures. True, skin is more supple at your age, but the years of obesity and the skin being stretched for so long removes that suppleness. If you have had gastric bypass surgery, this should have been discussed pre-operatively. You need to make an appt with your physician to obtain a referral. Good luck
Reply:ya i would think so, but everyones body is different
Reply:I support Debbie's answer. Remember that if surgery becomes the route you want to take, please shop the procedure and take advantage of consumerism to get the best buy. Did I spell consumerism correctly?

Can loose skin be tighten thru fitness to avoid plastic surgery?
No.
Actually, for overweight people over 25 years old, working out will actually cause loose skin. Only in your youth is your skin elastic, it starts to become inelastic in your 20
's.

Or maybe you lost a huge amount of weight?
like 70 pounds.. and if you did
Your skin is way to stretched out to recover by itselfe.
But yeah.
Other then that.
For your height
i think your fine
Reply:Sadly it may never go away, same with stretch marks. I used to weigh 200lbs. When I dieted and excericsed I went down to 120. However the stretch marks never went away. I thankfully never got the loose skin. However I know plenty of people who suffer from this condition after the irth of a child, and surgery at times is the 'only' outlet. No matter how skinny you get or muscular. I wish you luck though. It is not a dangerous procedure though, its simply the removal and tighening of skin .... however there may be other alternatives, from what I ahve learned though is that surgery is usually how you get rid of loose skin. It sucks, I know. ;(
Reply:were you heavy before and just recently lost weight?
if so, then it takes awhile for your skin to adjust to the new size. don't worry.
if you have always been like this or if you just started getting it, then you may just have problems with the elasticity in your skin.
this is what you skin has to keep it from flopping. Pull your skin (maybe on your hand) and see how fast it goes back in shape.
with elasticity, it does it fast. if your elasticity is not at its best it takes awhile for the skin to actually go back in place

Can you get loose skin if you loose 25-30 pounds?
and i don't mean all at once, not from surgery or pregancy, just loosing weight
Can you get loose skin if you loose 25-30 pounds?
it depends on how fast you lose it.
if its a slow and stead pace, like 3 months or more then your fine
if you lose it very quickly then yes you will have lose skin and unless its all in the same place, it will eventually tighten back up but there is only so much it will come back.
think of blowing a balloon up all the way and let it set for a day then let it all out. it will slowly shrink but never be back to the size it started at
Reply:It depends how big you are.. If you are very overweight or obese then yes you will, but if you exercise while you diet then you'll have a greater chance of not having much excess skin.

Can you get loose skin if you loose 25-30 pounds?
it depends on how fast you lose it.
if its a slow and stead pace, like 3 months or more then your fine

I have this loose piece of skin on my thigh, it looks like a mole but it is soft and I want to pull it off.?
The skin is loose and it likes a mole, and I have had it for years but now it is giving me problems not hurting but I have gained weight and it rubs against the other side. What would happen if I pulled it off?

My grandmother had the same thing as do my son. The doctor said, it's nothing to worry about but can be removed if it bothered him. His was very small and he just pulled it off himself. My grandmother, on the other hand cut hers off with scissors. (but i don't suggest that) Hers was big. I forgot what the doctor called it but said it's harmless.
Reply:DOCTORR!!

Reply:I would not do this. It could become infected. Go to your primary care doc. they can give you a shot with some lidocaine to deaden the pain. they they may send it off to be analyzed to make sure it is not cancer

My skin from my legs are really loose what can I put or do so it can get toned?
I work out alot but my skin is loose from my legs what can I put so they can get toned because it doesnt matter how hard I work out my legs
My skin from my legs are really loose what can I put or do so it can get toned?
If it is from losing weight, then there is probably not a lot of choices but surgery (which I'm not recommending because of scarring). If it is not, it is probably that you are dehydrated, and need to consume more water (at least 64 oz / day). Best of luck to you.
Reply:a toner or moisturizer
Reply:pilates! lift weights!
unless it is from weight loss like someone else said
Reply:try a firming lotion, it firms the skin and it looks tighter and a lot healthier, even a little skinnier, check at your local convenience store like shop rite, i think dove has one

When losing weight, does your skin become loose or something?
I have a girlfriend who is 18. She weighs somewhere around 160 and wants to lose 30 pounds. If she loses this much will her skin like become loose and need a tummy tuck or the skin removal surgery or that. What are your suggestions? Tot ake it slow and her skin will stay with her wieght?
When losing weight, does your skin become loose or something?
no not at all if she follow the tips below (properly) she will not get a skin loose.
Below are the few Quick Steps Towards A Healthier Diet.
1) Start taking your food with out any oil. Try to use boiled/steamed vegetables, meat, and lot of salad. U can eat fruits too and boiled/steamed chicken or red meat too but no pork. Please note and put it in ur mind that nothing fried or oily.
2) Try to chew ur every food for atleast 20 times. And then swallow it into ur stomach.
3) Potato is strictly forbidden during this diet
4) Don’t eat any type of junk food.
5) Drink at least 3 ltr of water daily. Make ur habit to drink water as much as u can. Rather take a bottle of water with you all the time, when you feel starving, drink it as much as u can.
6) use brown bread
7) use skimmed and low fat milk and yogurt
8) no sugar of any type.
9) First try to avoid any type of soft drink but if u really wants to taste some thing sweet then drink any soft drink (but not cola), but just one glass once in a week.
10) U can eat vegetable soap too as much as u can but no corn flour in it.
11) Just look at your food portion. It is much better to eat several small meals a day (like 5-6 healthy meals a day) than eat either one or two or three huge meal a day.
12) if u feel hungry then divide ur diet into 5-6 healthy meals a day (1 plate size only)
13) one bowl of oatmeal can be taken as a break fast
14) no hard drink of any type is allowed in this diet.
15) Watch out ur every drink and every single piece of ur food. Stay away from fatty foods, junk foods, synthetic foods, foods with preservatives and too much carbohydrate. Don’t try to take foods that are made of white flour for example white bread, cakes, pasta etc and food contain sugar such as cookies, ice cream, candy etc.
16) Remember after every 15 days you can take once in a while with a little treat any thing u like. But remember just a small portion. For example one small personal pizza or one small burger or small pastry.
17) Try to adopt some healthy timing. Early to rise and early to bed. No late sittings.
18) At least take this diet for 3 to 6 months and when u feel that u have achieved your desired weight then make ur eating life style as told above Remember do not focus on just losing weight, try to concentrate on diet plan forever so that you will never have to loose weight again. But occasionally u can take other junk food too.
19) Exercise: Rule-of -Thumb: remember the formula for weight loss and that is Diet= 70% Exercise= 30%. So remember exercise is must with every diet plan. The best indoor exercise machine is tread mill. Run on tread mill for at least 30 mntns daily. Try to extend ur period for one hour. And if u don’t have this facility then best indoor Exercise is skipping.
Reply:She should have tight skin, she will not have loose hanging skin, trust me.
Now, if she were 250 or something then that might be questionable, but people should NEVER get tummy tucks and start using surgeons to alter their body.
Your friend will be fine. :)
Reply:If she exercises and tones her body while she is dropping weight she should be just fine. Even better if she adds weight training to her exercise program she will lose weight a little faster and tone her body. Walking with weights is a great way to lose weight and tone.
No crash diet please. Eating good healthy food is a plus.

I have been working out but the skin just stays there. Is there a really good way to get that skin to tighten back up?

It won't happen over night but if you religiously work out, use lotion, drink lots of water and stay as active as you can eventually it'll all go back into place. Good luck and God Bless you and the little one!

I am 17 years old, I lost about 50 pounds, and I can't really tell if I have loose skin or not...?
As stated above, I am 17 years old and I lost about 50 pounds. I am not sure if I have an excess amount of skin or not. My upper stomach looks perfectly normal, however, my lower stomach looks as if it has a bit of extra skin. But I'm not sure if this is just fat or excess skin. If it is excess skin, what could I do?
I am 17 years old, I lost about 50 pounds, and I can't really tell if I have loose skin or not...?
If you are 17 it will most likely stretch back. You can help it by toning it. It is good fot your skin toning to take contrast showers - change between cold and hot water.
Reply:you hsoudl see a doctor, and ask for suggestions, and if it is loose skin, you can work out....

I just got a RES and wehn he's swimming looks like loose skin hanging, what should i do?
I just got a small red eared slider turtle. He looks like he has skin hanging off him, when in the water. Is he shedding? Is it maybe some sort of fungus? Is there something I should treat the water with? This is the first time I've had a water turtle and I need some quick help!
I just got a RES and wehn he's swimming looks like loose skin hanging, what should i do?
I would check for fungus. However, turtles do shed occasionally. But check for fungus just to be sure. If it is fungus, you can use an "ick" treatment like you would use for fish. "Ick" is a fungal infection of fish, but turtles can get it, too. This is especially likely if you have fish and turtles together-- don't laugh, some people do it.
Also be sure that your turtle has a rock for climbing and basking. RES's are semi-aquatic and need to bask occasionally.
Reply:just trim it off with a good sharp pair of scissors
Reply:This could be many things- how big are the chunks of hanging skin, and where are they hanging from?
In my experience, 99% of slider problems are caused by simple details in their daily care- too cold, water quality, etc.
I suggest reviewing a good care site, like www.redearslider.com and see if there is anything you can improve. If the care os solid and nothing changes after a short time, let a vet or local turtle guru look at it.

try to work on toning up at the gym, it will help tighten your skin and improve your muscle tone, therefore making your skin appear firmer!

OK, if a man has jowls which are basically the loose skin hanging off of his cheeks???
Then what do you call that flap of skin that hangs underneath his chin? In lizards, it's called a dewlap but what is it called if a man has one.

I see Antoine is developing quite the dewlap himself. William, however, is dewlap free (but he has that succulent skin on the back of his neck that hangs over his collar...and I'd lick and bite that....wonder if he'd like that?)

How do I get more cut looking and lose the loose skin?
Ive been goin to the gym for about 4 months now and been doing a mix of weight lifting involving cheast, abs, shoulder, back, biceps, and triceps and cardeo involving runnnig anywhere from 15 to 60 mins. at a consistant rate. The prob;em im having is that the fat in my is burning ackwardly. My cheast and abs the worst...the cheast fat seems to only be around the lower parts and it looks flabby and the ab have a similar issue, my gut just seems to hang at the bottom. i just wanna make it more even and get more of a cut and tighter look. I think since I have been over weight for a while the skin might have streched out and grow to the way my body was, and I want to know if there is any way to reverse it?
How do I get more cut looking and lose the loose skin?
Congrats. Flabby skin is a sign that you are making progress. Good job. Keep up the exercise.
Skin is the body's largest organ and we take it for granted. As you lose weight and stay hydrated, your skin will tighten over your muscles. It's important to stay hydrated, and work out plenty to work the deeper layers of the dermis that connect to your new bulging muscles.
A healthy diet is important for skin, especially high in vitamins E, C, and A. Lots of fruit and dark green vegetables. Swimming seems to help the skin tighten as well. I love the steam room for my skin, but maybe that's just me. Keep working at it, picture your new self in your head, and work for that.

Reply:the only way to get rid of loose skin is to have it surgically removed.
Reply:depends on your age. you lose collagen over time (elasticity). moisturize and build muscle to fill in some of the lose skin, that might help. other than that surgery. but it will leave a scar. make sure you're not losing too much weight either. also, consider this. better to have a few extra pounds, than to get lose like star jones. sorry, had to say that. honestly her face looks like it's sliding of her skull.

I am skinny and tones but can't tighten loose skin on my abs?
I had an eleven pound baby 5 years ago. I am back to my original weight but the skin on my stomach won't tighten. I have never tried a strict sit-up routine that lasted more than a couple of weeks. Is this a battle I will never win or can hard core ab work outs help this problem.
I am skinny and tones but can't tighten loose skin on my abs?
looks like you actually need a little more size to make the skin tighter possibly. If it is too much, then the only way would be surgery, but that is drastic, lets just get a little muscle there first...
Reply:yes i agree to the first answer :]
very true, surgery would be a little too drastic!
but yeah,
sit-ups and crunches should help you build up muscle on your tummy.
good luck :]
Reply:Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss (it's actually a colon cleanse) and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it (it's 100% natural). The results were excellent. I lost about 20 pounds in 2 months with this detox. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://free-thin-diet.us where they have a free trial and you only pay $4.95 shipping and handling.
Good luck!

I've Lost A LOT Of Weight, Some Loose Skin - Now What?
Here's the deal, I'm 20 years old, 5'10, 180lbs, aka very happy right now. When I was younger, about 15 or so, going in to 9th grade, I was over 260 pounds.
Between different things I've heard; about natural skin elasticity stopping at a certain point, and surgery being the only answer, I don't know what to do.
I'm realistic, I eat healthily, and now I'm in it for the long haul... How long does it take to get a six pack? What are the best exercises in order to do it, I use the ball for my core 4-5 days a week. I don't do a lot of cardio. I do a five minute warmup before I start my workout, thats it. Should I get on that?
If anyone wants to answer any particular aspect of my scenario, please feel free to... Thanks, Justin!
I've Lost A LOT Of Weight, Some Loose Skin - Now What?
Congratulations on losing the weight!
Like a previous person said, if you have been working out, the 6-pack is in there, it's just covered in subcutaneous fat. I'd suggest making cardio a regular part of your regular exercise routine, to burn more fat. Do steady cardio exercise like walking/hiking, running or cycling (or even organized sports like soccer or racket sports) for at least 30-45 minutes to get into the fat-burning state. Keep doing the weight training as well.
You're right about the skin elasticity only going so far. Being young also helps. Unfortunately, if you end up a healthy weight and fat percentage, and still have lose skin you can't get rid of, plastic surgery may be the only option. I'd suggest giving it a few more years to see how things go, though. Surgery is never without risks.
Reply:for getting rid of your loose skin...... I would suggest some plastic surgery tuck stuff if it is extreme but first you should look it up and go to a doctor and review your possibilities.
Reply:Wow, first off let me congratulate you! %26gt;applause%26lt;
I can only wish I have your determination %26amp; discipline.
However, surgery IS the only way to remove excess skin, especially after a dramatic weight loss.
Reply:You are right that surgery is the only option.
As for the 6 pack, it has very little to do with core exercises. You already have a 6 pack, it is just covered by body fat. The general rule is that you need to acheive a 6% to 8% body fat level in order for the ab muscles to show through.
Reply:How did you lose the weight? let me kno, i need to lose like 30lbs.
Reply:in this situation surgical option seems the best -and the quickest- way. especially for your abdomen, breasts and arms.
but if you dont prefer surgery, you can gain some weight and try to lose it gradually with sports.
Reply:At your age, your skin is still in relatively good condition. Your loose skin may improve over time (years). If not, surgery is the only way to get rid of it. Having said that, are you certain it isn't fat? If i were you i would go to a doctor or a surgeon and get their opinion on what to do.
With loose skin around the stomach, abs just aren't going to be visible

You're right about the skin elasticity only going so far. Being young also helps. Unfortunately, if you end up a healthy weight and fat percentage, and still have lose skin you can't get rid of, plastic surgery may be the only option. I'd suggest giving it a few more years to see how things go, though. Surgery is never without risks.
Reply:for getting rid of your loose skin...... I would suggest some plastic surgery tuck stuff if it is extreme but first you should look it up and go to a doctor and review your possibilities.
Reply:Wow, first off let me congratulate you! %26gt;applause%26lt;
If i lose 65 pounds will i have loose skin?
i weigh 195 i wanna lose 65 pounds will i have extra skin?
If i lose 65 pounds will i have loose skin?
Most likey not. I lost 95lbs and didn't have loose skin. If you exercise while you are losing weight, it helps. Also drink as much water as you can.
Usually if people lose a lot more - like over 120lbs or so they have loose skin. With 65lbs loss you will most likely look firm. Lifting weights and exercising helps. Good luck, you will feel great when you reach your goal
Reply:It depends on how tall/short you are.
It's pretty common to have loose skin if you lose the weight too quickly (like with gastric bypas), but if you do it at a very moderate pace the extra skin shouldn't be too bad. :)
Reply:weight training helps firmed up the skin
Reply:If you are getting exercise at the same time as you are dieting it will minimize it.
Reply:Just lose it slowly and exercise to tone up your body.
Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise. They will increase your metabolism rate and burn fats.
I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.
Details such as meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog

Reply:Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.health-fit.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 4.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

I lost about 10 lbs. Now how do i make the loose skin tight again?
So i lost weight, and now i have some extra skin (not like gross flab but yes extra skin beause the fat inside is gone) on my legs.
I lost weight by eating healthier, not really by working out. I never was fat i was 129 pounds now im 117 pounds. This is normal for me because i am short and built small.
Anyways, how do i make my legs look toned and tight again and possibly lose all that extra skin??

I applaud you on wanting to become leaner and healthier. But, try this for when the weather is in the teens. Exercise is a natural process that our bodies use to eliminate excess fat. People gain excess weight by either overeating or lack of sufficient exercise. So, on those days, stop and grab your coat and your keys and leave the house. Hurry to do this, but once outside take a leisurely stroll around your block. Then go back home and DON'T SIT DOWN, but do some house cleaning. Continue doing this 1 block jaunt for 1 week. Next week walk 2 blocks at the same leisure pace and go back home and clean some more. By now you should be more intuned to yourself and feeling like you can take on the world. Well, don't. We don't want you to get discouraged and stop walking. Your body will be fine tuning itself as you walk so you may not see immediate results. For your third week take in a block further and go home and do some more cleaning. Do the same for the fourth week as well. Now, here you are at the second month. You should be feeling more energetic. Are you? OK, then let's begin. This time when you go for your walk you will increase it by 2 blocks each week. If you feel pain or are short-winded then stop and go back to your last comfort zone of walking. This is only your body's way of saying that it is not ready for that step so fast. It is not telling you that you can't or never will do it, but just not then. Now go out and buy yourself some good raingear for the days when it is raining cats and dogs. Boots included and cover your nose and mouth as well. Don't let the inclement in the weather get in the way of you having good health. Now that you are walking further you need to go home and start organizing the cabinets and drawers. You are probably one of those people who still watch too much television. If you can't get up the nerve to throw it (idiot box) out, then watch it standing up as you go around and clean house. Oh, and another thing, while you are losing weight your clothes will start to bag and sag. Get rid of them! After all of your hard work you want to flaunt your success. Go out and buy new underwear and outerwear clothing. Don't forget that your feet will have lost weight too, so buy new shoes. Don't overwhelm yourself, though. Buy a piece at a time as you loose weight and get rid of your fat clothes. DO NOT STOP once you are at your ideal weight. Now you have to maintain it, for a lifetime. And always be aware of your surroundings. I can see you now. YOU'RE LOOKING GOOD!

how did you lose your weight?
Reply:Aside from surgery, the only way is exercise.
Reply:Three ways.
1.) Wait. Your skin will tighten, but it takes time.
2.) Fill the skin back in with muscle. or...
3.) Preperation H. Its temorary, but it works in a pinch. Its what some bodybuilders use pre-contest.
But, just wait it out. Your skin will tighten back up. By the sound of it you probably lost the weight rather quickly.

*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/...
Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:

My corn snake isn't shedding her skin correctly, she always has loose skin and has a dull color. WHY?
I have had a beautiful corn snake, she is orange and white, and about 1/2 years old. In the past she would shed her skin in one or two pieces, she always had a bright beautiful color. For the past 6 months she sheds in clumps, is always very scaly, and her color is very dull. She eats well, I spray her tank with water every day and she has plenty of rocks, bark to rub up against. What could be wrong?
My corn snake isn't shedding her skin correctly, she always has loose skin and has a dull color. WHY?
usually this is do to low humidity
snakes usually soak in their water dish to help things along, when a snake first starts the sheeding process, they will get a milky look to the eyes and under the skin, what this is is the snakes skin secrete a liquid to help seperate the old skin from the new, this milk phase will last a few day, then they clear up, they should shed within a day or two, you may have to help them along by soaking them in shed ease, available at the pet store, then you may have to help them remove all skin, it is important to get it all, especially the tip of tail and eye caps. bring the humidity up by placing water dish under heat lamp and keep an eye on them throughout the shedding process, and make sure no old skin is left after shedding.....hope this helps
Reply:maybe the humidity isn't right, do you have a hygrometer in her cage. Also the temp could be wrong, do you have thermometers in her cage?
Reply:She's ambitious - she's practising to be a striptease artiste in Las Vegas!
Reply:Do you have a large enough water dish for it too soak in?
Reply:Check the heat
Reply:humidity might be low, try giving her a warm soak in the tub yo help loosen the skin and maybe assist her with those loose globs of skin.
Reply:They are right it's probably a humidity problem. This is what I do and it works really well. When she starts to go into the blue and her eyes haze over take a plastic container. I use a cool whip container. Cut a hole in the lid and fill it loosely with damp but not wet sphagnum moss. You can buy it at most pet stores. Wet the moss really good and then ring it out with your hands so it's not dripping. Put it in a cooler part of the cage and pick the snake up and just hold her so her head is near the opening you made in the lid. She should go right in. She'll probably dig and stay underneath the damp moss and she'll probably stay there a few days. Just check the moss every day and make sure it doesn't dry out. Re wet it as needed. This makes a great humid hide and will help immensely if she's having shed problems. Then when she's done shedding take out the container throw away the old moss and save the container for the next shed. I wouldn't save the old moss because it might get moldy from the dampness after a long time. My snake had a bad shed once. Since I started doing this she's had perfect sheds ever since.
Reply:QUIT spraying the cage daily. Corn snakes require a relatively dry substrate to live on %26amp; your daily misting can cause a constantly damp substrate which will cause all sorts of skin problems. Just give your snake a decent sized water bowl %26amp; keep fresh water in it. This will provide the necessary humidity.
Reply:make sure she has a large enouph bowl to soak in. Most problems with shedding is caused by poor nutrition and the body does not produce enouph oils under the skin to help it release. A one piece shed is the goal. Young corns will eat a prey item 1.5 times there size of its widest point about every 5 days and grow quickly the first year. Make sure the shed comes off the tail tip or it will become nueratic and fall off.
Reply:As snakes get older, their color starts to dull. My two year old amel, which is what I believe you have, is duller than her baby color, and I know this because her babies are bright red and white. She is a duller, but still nice looking red, along with orange, yellow, and white. Try putting a large water dish in the container that the snake can jump into whenever she wants to loosen her skin. There is also a thing sold at pet stores that helps snakes shed skins.
I also suggest buying a book on corn snakes. I have one and it is extremely helpful.

What is the best way to tighten loose skin after weight loss?
After I had a baby I lost 60 pounds in 6 months, but now I have excess skin. A tummy tuck is out, what can I do. It's been 2 years and it's not getting better......
What is the best way to tighten loose skin after weight loss?
Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.
Reply:Regain the weight =]
Reply:If you cant afford or dont want a tummy tuck, there are cremes to tighten and firm skin. I dont know if they work on extreme loose skin but wrinkles and stuff like that.
Reply:Have you tried lifting weights? It will eventually give you rock hard abs to fill out that excess skin. Also, muscle helps to burn fat.
Reply:I've read that when you lose weight, you lose the fat inside the fat cells but the fat cells themselves remain. But there's a theory that when you create a scarcity of something, that thing will be held onto more and more eg . when you're broke you tend to not be as willing to spend as much. Based on this, if ,to lose weight, you've been eating low fat foods, you may have starved your body of fats, which are actually needed by the body, and your body may be holding onto the fats cells and not wanting to let them go. So it might be a good idea to put 1 or 2 tablespoons of good oils into your diet everyday. Go to a health food shop and get a couple of different healthy oils like almond oil, rice bran oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, etc. Mix them together and consume them uncooked, like over a salad. This way you'll be getting good oils in your system, not creating a scarcity and your body might be more willing to let some of those fat cells go and things might tighten up. I know it sounds a little contrary to popular opinion - eating fat to lose weight - but think about giving it a go. And let me know how you go.

Multiple canker sores and white patches of loose skin inside of mouth?
Hello.
The other day I woke up with one side of my neck (right lymph node) hurting. Gradually it got a little painful to swallow. Later the next day I started suffering severe muscle aches (head to toe), and my lymph node had swollen and it was very painful. I noticed a canker sore on the inside of my cheek. Later that night, another one appeared on the inside of my upper lip. Througout the night, i developed a fever of 102 and 2 canker sores multiplied to 30 or more all over the inside of my lips and cheeks. I do have a nervous habit of biting my lips and cheeks to the point where they bleed, (had it for years) but never have I experienced so many sores at once. Along with the sores I have large areas of slightly raised white patches of skin. My lips are swollen, I cant eat, the muscles pains and fever went away, but pain is worse in my mouth.
anyone else experience something similar to multipe sores? Its not herpes (that occurs on outside of mouth) Could it be Lupus?
thanks
Multiple canker sores and white patches of loose skin inside of mouth?
It could be "trench mouth", something I've heard of but know little about.
I got tested for lupus and other autoimmune diseases a few years ago - it's a blood test and takes a few days to get the results, at least.
But you need to see a regular doctor right away. Whatever this is, you need to start treating the symptoms. Now!
Reply:To me it does sound like Lupus, go to the doctor right away before more symptoms pop up! (HAIR loss, more fevers etc..)
Reply:I would see your doctor.
Reply:actually herpies can also occur inside mouths too so you might want to get it checked out

What can i do to fix my loose skin after weight loss?i'm eating the maximum high pure protein and spinach, etc
Sorry to say that you can't shrink skin. You need to see a plastic surgeon. Loose skin is one of the biggest complaints in people who've had gastric bypass surgery. Even Richard Simmons had to get his excess skin cut off.
Reply:I have heard there are herbal remedies that can help tone and tighten the skin according to my friend as well as exercises.

when yr younger you still have alot of elasticity in yr skin so you should be able to lose and exercise to get back into shape. try tips on weight loss and exercise programs to help you on this site
Reply:If you're young it'll "snap" back. The trick is to excersise and diet.
Reply:exercise and a diet low in carbs. why don't you ask your physician to hook you up with a nutritionist. she/he can help you get started with a nice balanced diet and a good cardio workout with weights 3-5 times a week for at least 20 min. a day. but if you haven't worked out. you need to see your doc. to make sure you dont have diabeties, heart diseise, etc.
Reply:The way to prevent loose sagging skin following weight loss is to lose the weight slowly and give your body and your skin some time to adjust.

The reason why people get very loose skin is because of drastic weight loss instead you need a simple plan like this one to start you off so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx

* Take one pound at a time
Don’t get overwhelmed by how much weight you need to lose. Try to remember that "losing 15 pounds in two weeks" is nothing to celebrate. It is important to realize that the more quickly weight is lost, the more likely the loss is coming from water and muscle, not fat.
Since muscle tissue is critical in keeping our metabolism elevated, losing it actually leads to a decrease in the amount of calories we can each day without gaining weight.
Fat loss is best achieved when weight is lost slowly. Strive for a weight loss of no more than 3-4 pounds per week. One pound of weight is equivalent to 3500 calories.
* Set Reachable Goals
For instance, if you know you need to get more exercise, begin with a manageable goal of, say, walking 10 minutes a day that you know you can achieve. Then build your self-esteem by achieving the small goals you set yourself.
The same logic applies for losing weight.
* Stay off the scales
Don’t get discouraged when your progress seems to be slow according to your bathroom scales. They do not provide a true measure of what is going on with the body.
If exercise levels are adequate (5-7 days a week), you may be putting on muscle but losing fat, thus losing inches even if you are not losing pounds. It's always a good idea to do several body measurements to have a second objective way to monitor progress.
* Stay focused on being healthy, not thin
# Many people become more successful at long term weight loss when their motive changes from wanting to be thinner to wanting to be healthier. Change your mindset to think about selecting foods that will help your body's health rather than worrying about foods that will affect your body's weight. The Food Pyramid offers a basic outline of the types and amounts of food you should eat each day to give your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health.
* Fat Free?
We've known for some time that limiting high fat foods in the diet can be helpful with weight loss. That's because fats pack in 9 calories per gram compared to only 4 calories per gram from proteins or carbohydrates. To many, the message to limit fats implied an endorsement to eat unlimited amounts of fat-free products. Just to clarify, fat-free foods have calories too. In some cases fat-free foods have as many calories as their fat laden counterparts. If you eat more calories than your body uses, you will gain weight. Eating less fat will help you to lose weight. Eating less fat and replacing it with excessive amounts of fat-free products will not.
* Drink plenty of water
Drink eight glasses a day. Water is a natural appetite-suppressant. Nettle tea is a great weight-loss tea as it supports metabolism and has diuretic properties.
* Reward yourself
# Each time you reach a goal, such as losing 5 pounds, reward yourself with a gift or a massage.
* Seek help if you need it
# A big key in long term weight control comes from receiving encouragement and support from others. Find a friend to lose weight with or you can check to see if groups such as Weight Watchers, or eDiets offer programs and resources in your area by clicking the links. You may also wish to check with your local hospital to see if their registered dietician conducts group weight loss programs.
* Watch your portions
With the advent of "supersize" meals and increasingly huge portions at restaurants, our concept of normal serving sizes is a distant memory. Be mindful of the amounts of food you consume at a sitting. When necessary, divide your food in half and ask for a take home bag. It is all too easy to be a "plate cleaner" even when served enormous portions. Learn to pay attention to your hunger level and stop eating when you feel comfortably full, not stuffed.
* Eat your food slowly
Did you ever notice that thin people take an awfully long time to eat their food? Eating slowly is one method that can help take off pounds. That's because from the time you begin eating it takes the brain 20 minutes to start signaling feelings of fullness. Fast eaters often eat beyond their true level of fullness before the 20 minute signal has had a chance to set in. The amount of calories consumed before you begin to feel full can vary significantly depending on how quickly you eat. So slow down, take smaller bites and enjoy your food.

Ladies... Please tell me if my loose skin will ever be toned again???? Ur experiences?
I heard we never got rid of it. Is it true? I have lost my after baby belly puch but nwo I have wrinkly skin. I had just a toned ab before :-(
Ladies... Please tell me if my loose skin will ever be toned again???? Ur experiences?
I had the same problem, all you gotta do is make sure to do plenty of crunches, sit ups and make sure to tuck and suck when you go for walks (suck in your stomach and squeeze your buttcheeks together) that always helped with me and it still does. Good Luck!
Reply:No, the loose skin never tightens back the way it was. I will tighten up a little bit on its own, but you won't have tight abs like you did before, no matter how many crunches you do.
You can try some firming creams like Nivea and see if that helps. The only thing that fixes it totally is a tummy tuck.
Reply:I once had toned abs too, and one baby later I have belly pouch. (yuck) I've heard you can try skin tightening cream that may work or your other option is a tummy tuck.
Good luck.
Reply:there is nothing that can make skin go away unless its surgery. Your only other option would be to build some pretty big ab muscles that would fill out the skin but even then it will be slightly wrinkly and pouchy. it is impossible to get it back to normal no matter how much you exercise unless you have really good and elastic skin genetically. Skin stretches to fast to adjust during pregnancy to bounce back and it deflates to quickly too.
Reply:I had my first baby 5 weeks ago and am left with a pouch of loose skin, too. I feel the skin will tighten a bit over time, but it is not likely to go back to how it used to be pre-pregnancy.
If you got stretchmarks, then the skin will always remain more loose, no matter what kind of creams you use or how much abdominal training you do, because the marks are essentially scars that formed when the skin began breaking down from excess stress. The marks will fade, but they will always be there and the skin cannot 'shrink back' once it's reached that point.
If you didn't get stretchmarks, then there is more of a chance that your skin will recover fully as it didn't, literally, reach 'the breaking point'.
Whether our dreaded skin-pouches go away or not, atleast we got something wonderful in exchange, eh? Congrats on your baby, btw.

I hate to say it, but if you have oily skin (very active glands), then you'll shift the normal balance (which is an overproduction in your case) if you try to "dry up" the oil....which will result in MORE oil being produced.
Your skin has a minimum standard of oil that it produces every day. If you alter that production, your body will respond. Powders and makeup do NOT help. They make temporary adjustments which your body will always compensate for!

Reply:it actually does not matter. your foundation that goes underneath is more important. look for oil free products. loose vs. pressed is merely personal preference. I like loose better. easier to apply with big fluffy brush. I asked at the bobbi brown make-up counter at nordstroms and they told me there was really no difference between the two. It just depends on what you like better. At home I prefer loose. But when I travel with my pressed powder since it is smaller case.
