I am 20 yrs old %26amp; 300lbs when i loose a lot of weight will I have loose skin, help!!??
I did a search on loose skin after losing weight and saw a lot of things-try it. I believe at such a young age you have a good chance of having nice elastic skin-so so that weight loss program slowly but do it now while you are young.
here's one article below (Sorry there are a lot of losers out there "answering". I guess they wont be wrting in to answers confessing "Im really ignorant and not very bright. What can I do about it?")
Dieters: How to Avoid Loose Skin Problems
The problem?
Unwanted loose sagging skin left as a reminder of our former shape. Here are the 5 keys to prevent loose sagging skin when you undergo a weight loss program.
1. Lose weight slowly
Skin has remarkable powers of elasticity and yet it does not snap back instantly into shape if you lose a lot of weight quickly - anyone who has ever had a baby will tell you that one for free!
The more gradually you lose weight the easier it is for your skin to keep pace with your new shape. You certainly didn't put on all those pounds overnight - your skin had time to adapt so don't try to get rid of them all at once either if you want your skin to stay looking good.
Change your habits gradually so that you lose your weight bit by bit and you're far less likely to have problems than someone going on a crash diet and congratulating themselves on losing 100lbs in 6 months.
2. Eat nutrient rich foods
If your meals and snacks consist of junk food (even if you eat it in smaller quantities than before) then you're unlikely to nourish your skin properly and build up its strength.
Choose foods which are high in vitamins and minerals and low in sugar, saturated fat and additives. Include foods high in essential fatty acids such as avocados, olives, oily fish, nuts and seeds and oils made from these and also ensure that you have an adequate supply of lean protein.
3. Preserve your muscle tone
When you lose weight you may find that the skin becomes loose because you have lost some of the underlying muscle which supports it. If you lose more than a pound or two of weight a week then it is very likely you're losing muscle tissue as well as fat and without specific intense exercises to replace that muscle your skin will sag.
In any case, no matter how fast you lose weight (and even just to prevent age-related sagging) it is always helpful to do some toning exercises for all parts of your body including your face to keep skin firm if you care about looking good.
4. Keep skin hydrated
Drink plenty of water to keep skin healthy. If you drink wall to wall fizzy drinks, coffee and tea skin suffers because these drinks cause you to be more dehydrated than ever. And diet drinks full of additives do not help your skin no matter how few calories they contain. Only water and pure herbal teas will do the trick.
You can add lemon or orange slices to your water and you can have it at any temperature you like but drink enough - about 2 litres a day. That's about 8 glasses. If it helps try the rubber band trick and put 8 bands on your wrist or around a pot or bottle on your desk and remove one each drink of water you have.
5. Lose weight sooner rather than later
Don't keep putting off your weight loss program. The older you are and the longer you have been overweight the less elastic and resilient your skin becomes and the more you need to stick stringently to the other guidelines here to prevent skin becoming too loose.
Also don't get too complacent about being able to eat all you want and then lose weight later before you get hugely overweight The constant yo-yo dieting stretching and then loosening the skin will harm your skin's elasticity too.
Ask a doctor also to help you

I like low carb diet best but ask your doc
Reply:it wil be hard to loose all that skin, but if you take some flax seed and lin seed oil (youcan get this is capsule form) it may help, but be prepared for excess skin.
Reply:You're young enough that your skin should still be fairly elastic. You may have some loose skin for a while but as long as you lose at a safe rate you shouldn't need surgery or anything. It might just take a little while for your skin to tighten up. Most of the horror stories you see are from people over twice your age. Skin gets thinner and droopier with age.
Reply:the answer is yes.
your skin has stretched and will be like that unless you get it surgically removed. think about how when you blow up a balloon and then deflate it. it becomes stretched out and will not go back to the original size like before you blew it up. the most noticeable part will be around your stomach area and possibly some on your thighs and arms, depending on how much of a difference of weight you lost.
Reply:u will have loose skin, but u can tone! Gosh, don't let that stop u. It's not as much as think! Just do it!
Reply:You are young so your skin has a lot of elasticity. You should be fine as long as you loose the weight slow and exercise. Good luck
Reply:get your butt off the computer and work out. You can low calorie diet the rest of your life, without exercise, you'll have wings
Reply:You will have some loose skin, but if you go at it slowly, your skin will go back some, but it will still be loose. If you lose the weight too quickly, then your skin will remain very loose. It will also lose elasticity if you were to lose the weight and then gain it back, and lose it again. In other words, if you are a yo-yo dieter, then your skin will be loose.
Reply:Yes, it is possible. But if you keep your skin moist during your dieting phase, and if you drink plenty of water always, well your skin will regain elasticity and that will help. Don't lose your weight too quickly though. The faster you lose it, the longer it will take for your skin to regain it's composure. Also, tension exercises and lifting weights rather than always doing aerobic exercise will also help tone your body.
Reply:I think you are doing great. There may be chance that u may have loose skin and will need surgery; however, if u are just dieting then this will most likely happen. You need to also start exercising or do some light weights espaeciall for your arms and this will reduce the loose skin. You will help your body tighten the largest organ which is our skin. If u start lifting wieghts then u will gain muscle mass and weigh more, but you need to remember that ur goal is losing inches and not just weight.
Reply:If you exercise and stretch the skin as you lose weight then you wont have extra skin for too long. I can tell from your picture that you are the type of girl who is pretty no matter how much you weigh. Im glad you are getting serious about your health! I wish the best to you and you are doing a great job! Dont get frustrated when it is harder to lose the weight. I heard that when people go on diets they lose alot at first and then as they lose more weight it is harder and harder to lose more so you might lose less a week but dont give up! It is hard work!
Reply:im proud of you keep on dieting and ignore the insults your young enough to lose the weight and as you loose tighten it up with light weights for the arms walking for the legs. and a couple sit ups for the stomach . and there shouldnt b that much loose skin good luck gemini and remember we are strong .
Reply:wow, there is not much anyone but an MD could say....good luck, and you are beautiful!!!!!

Having said that, I agree with those that are telling you to lose at a safe rate; that should minimize any skin problems. You can also ask your doctor to help you with your weight loss.
Good luck!
Reply:300 lbs ... Thats too much but its good that you have realized and started work-outs. You need to have balanced Diet to keep you fit and you will not loose your face beauty.
Consult some good Diatetrian for support.
I suggest that you have good Fresh vetegables, fruits, milk, lots of water, honey %26amp; fish. NO softdrinks, carbohydrates, backery, burgers, animal fats, all sorts of nuts.
